Well I'd certainly lose the wing at the back. But as I'm having a real hard time with the front of the 458 just about anything else looks good to me. Would probably be less louche if it lost the two tone.

If you're going with the wing then three big fart can mufflers on the back are mandatory.

I quite like that. The wing should go though...I'd much prefer a tiny tiny lip wing (almost invincible like on the 360 CS) in carbon. I like the lower black parts too, would work well as unpainted carbon.

Sure, body kits are commonplace in tuning culture. It's not as commonly done on Ferraris as on Jap cars, but it is done. That kit looks alright.

Yet the big issue with aftermarket alterations to Ferraris is that it crosses a line of originality that lots, if not most, Ferraristi are concerned about. When you went to sell the 458 all kitted up like that, you'd probably severely reduce your field of buyers and value. This isn't a Maxima or Supra. It's still a Ferrari, different rules of engagement, so to speak.

I'm seriously thinking of customising those headlights if I get a 458. Don't care too much about resale, just the fact that it would jar with me every time I walked up to it.

you know, with enough $, a coachbuilder will make it look exactly the way you wanted:) if i had the mooluh, that's what i'd do...i love 90% of the design as is, and it appears to be a great platform with serious hardware... but for now, all i can do is go gradeschool and modify an imaginary car:)

That's it for me, too. I love 90% of it. Trouble is, the 10% I don't like is just overpowering. I'll have to hold fire until I see it in person. Everything could change then.

If the wing is functional then it's cool with me.

    Nice PS!

Would look cool it was real and if it had adjustable front wing lets where the intakes but I think the big intakes days are gone or "old-fashion" where as adjustable aerodynamics is the future.

everyone is focused on the front. let's not forget that the interior sucks! the only thing nice about the car is the back.

For some reason the front reminds me of the Porsche 996 - they do not look similar but both look like a bad mistake.

Might it be the odd 'don't really go anywhere logical but get cut off half way there' headlights that are doing it?

IMO they 'fixed' the wrong part .......... its the headlights and unfinished little 'hood vents' that bother me .............

It's also the black front air dam (is it called that?) doesn't look particularly coherent. I like the side view and the rear view though!

The front looks better than what the factory came up with. Make it one tone and lose the air intake between lights and hood and the front is good to go. Undecided on the rear spoiler. Big rear spoilers is kinda nineties but it did look good on the last two 911 generations.

I was looking at 458 pics last night and thought the front would look much better if the black parts were painted body color. And get rid of the silver horse so close to the hood badge. At least that's what I would do with one....
