Road & Track did a "Salon" feature on your car in the March 1990 issue, when it was silver, and included a couple of paragraphs about your experiences with it. We need to see pictures of it when it was light metallic green, and when it was burgundy.

    Welcome!

One of the most beautiful of them all IMO, once this is moved to the vintage section it'll be minutes for you to know who owns it currently.

Did you loan the car to Art Center (old campus) on 3rd Street? I think there was a picture of it being used in some drawing class on the front lawn in an old school catalog.

Who did you get the car from?

    What were your ownership years?

Please check your memory on Ferrari of Beverly Hills. That dealership did not exist in the 70s. There was Hollywood Sports Cars on Hollywood Blvd or Francisco Mir's place in Santa Monica.

Hi Bill, and welcome to F-chat! I was the one who brokered this car to Lorenzo the first time he owned it. He has had it more than once, and loves it. I'm still in touch with Lorenzo, so if you have anything for him, I'll be happy to pass it on. And thanks for the memories!

    Ed,

Does this mean that of the period Ferraris that were in LA you never actually owned this one? I thought you owned virtually every one of them at least once!

Here is the Barchetta ownership list. The only possible "Bill" is B. Solomon who owned the car for one year in 1976. Unless you are not listed here at all. the owner before Zebrano is Lance Hill who seemed to own the car for two years while it was already a 2,500,000 million dollar car. Do people use 2,500,000 cars as only cars and daily drivers? Cool.

    Hi wblink,

great story, in the 80's I used my Alfa Giulia Super for my drumkit and actually did a gig a few months ago and got my jazz Gretsch kit in my 275GTB.....not that easy though, how can you squeeze a (18") bass drum in the SWB? on the passenger seat? (as I did).

    session or jazz drummer?

    ciao
    Oscar

Yale, FWIW (and I know you know this..) these things aren't gospel. I have a friend who owned a 1962 250 GTO for 20 years and he does not appear AT ALL on their list.

That's pretty amazing, THREE Ferrari owning drummers, all in one thread! LOL!

My latest Ludwig kit (red mahagony) has a huge bass in it......forget it, and bring the truck around......

We easely can make it four if Nick M stops lurking and join this quartet!

Drummers not only get the best girls, they are good in cars as well (and have no lack of self confidence.... yes yes we know you might call it arrogance....)

    ciao

It was not on loan just there for the kids to take photos for a few hrs. did you take any? would love to see em. I think the guy who called from art center Strother Mc Min don't know if thats the right spelling ?
My memory is just fine... the owner was Otto Zipper and his partner was Bob Estes Ferrari Beverly Hills unless it had some other name but is was on Wilshire Blvd in BH (remember I knew nothing about Ferraris when he called) anyway it's not that important.
    I remember Hollywood Sports Cars.
I bought it from a guy who made a 4 or 5 car deal to get it from a dealer in Italy... I have the original invoice from the dealer to him. wish I was a better at typing !
hope that answers all you questions. ( do you know what year the art center thing was ?)
    Bill
