Does anyone know anything about this P400S for sale in Switzerland? Does it really have "Lamborghini" inscribed on the sill?

"Splendid Miura S in exceptional shape, sold brand new by Auto Elite in Metallic Blue livery with tan leather interior, repainted in Red by the second owner. The last owner bought it 9 year ago and carefully maintained it since then. Splendid example of Miura S ready to drive.
    asking EUR 395’000.-"

I don't see any indication of which car (chassis) it is....

    Chassis #4851
    Engine #30610
    Prod. #591
    27 Jan 1971

Originally Metallic Blue, this Miura is complete restored by a absolute Miura Expert. Improved with many SV Parts this car is said to run better than a SV!

Factory records show air conditioning. Note that engine number opposite should read 30610.

1971- Sold new via Autoelite, Milan.

1.2.89- With Fournier, Switzerland 2000- With Swiss enthusiast, modified lights, brakes, bodywork etc. Note: In photo of chassis plate, engine number and production number do not tally with chassis number (unless factory records are wrong).

Mid-1990s- Owned by Porsche collector Jean-Claude Miloé, Paris. Restored, now in SV configuration.

1997- Sold from Miloé to German collector via German dealer Axel Schuette.

1/2003- Believed advertised for sale on internet, "fully and superbly restored to the highest standards by its current owner". Claims 3,000km since restoration, "surely one of the best Miura P400 S available". Asking Eu.115,000.

8/2004- Advertised for sale on autoscout.de by owner, asking c.Eu.150,000.

10/2004- Offered for sale by Axel Schuette for Eu.185,000.

10/2004- Factory confirm that car was built as an 'S'.

Thanks for all the information Raymond, much appreciated.

Does anyone know what the story is with the "Lamborghini" script on the sills? Very curious...

Does it come with fuzzy dice for the rearview mirror as well?

Hmm always take that with a grain of salt.

In my experience, the only thing that runs better than an SV is a well-tuned SV.

Olivier, Are you sure this car is a P400 , it could be a P400S as well. The picture isn't clear enough to be 100% sure. From a first glance, I would say it's a P400S

Joe, or anyone else, do you have any pictures of the zinc roadster in it's present state? I didn't know the restoration was completed. I'd love to see how it looks in its original colors!

If you look on my web site in the restoration section, you will see the restoration high lights of the Miura Roadster at www.bobileff.com. Yes, the car was finished, yes, it was shown at Pebble Beach, and it is currently featured in the new Robb Report Magazine.

Considering the light source is directly overhead the car, Id say that car has satin-black trim around the windows and headlight bezels. If I am correct, then its a P400.

I think this car was originally Argento Indianapolis, but the current color (which I personally like very much) is a non-original color. 'Copper' would be a reasonably accurate description.

I should mention that Lamborghini used a similar color on a few Countachs, called "Rame Colorado Metallizzato"

I checked the odometer and it said 8 thousand and change. Owner said this was the first car show it had been in for the past 20 years.

The 52nd Miura built, chassis number 3099, engine number 1277, built August the 30th 1967, a P400, new to a Nevada USA resident. Then to the late Frank Sanders, Reno air racer of renown. Ruth Sanders his widow kept the car with sons Dennis & Brian. Restored by the Sanders family in 1982.

Featured in the March 1988 issue of Car & Driver in an excellent piece by Pete Lyons (noted in my book) with wonderful images by George Lepp.

If I recall correctly it was extensively tested by the magazine and recorded 99 dBA interior sound level!
