according to Finland's leading newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. That consists of of his full 2010 salary of €30 million and an early termination penalty of €15 million. Reportedly Kimi held out for €65 million until the very end. The remaining €20 million is likely to be his salary from McLaren if the deal gets inked. Poor Kimi. No wonder he is so sad!

Perhaps that €20 diff is the Santander amount they were suppose to pay McLaren for Kimi to drive for them.

Wow! Nice job Kimi! You get a WDC And get paid more than any other driver while at Ferrari then after realizing you're on a sinking team you go to a much more healthy team and get paid $65mil to do it... :)

Kimi's already shown he's brilliant on track but it seems his real brilliance is his off-track decisions. Oh ya, Im sure Kimi's all broke up over this. :D

Alonso goes to the team he has dreamed of driving for, Kimi gets a ****-ton of money and gets to to drive for a team that is showing more and more promise this year as the season goes on. Sounds to me like everybody wins. ;)

either way I'm sure Kimi got a lot. But - I'll bet Santander is paying a big $$ amount here:

Ferrari has denied media reports about the impressive terms of Fernando Alonso's new contract.

Some Spanish reports this week suggested that the 28-year-old double World Champion will earn 25m euros per year, which is less than the retainer enjoyed since 2007 by the man he replaces, Kimi Raikkonen.

It has also been reported that in addition to Spaniard Alonso's three-year deal are contracted options for three further years, and that terminating Raikkonen's contract is costing Ferrari a whopping 45m euros, partly paid for by the Spanish sponsor Santander.

"The numbers talked about have absolutely nothing to do with reality," said a report on Ferrari's official website.

"It's easy to write numbers, forgetting that the world has changed recently. At Ferrari a lot of calculating is done and attention is not only paid to the costs of the operational structure, but also as far as the drivers are concerned."

Unless Santander is hiding money from the shareholders -very unlikely- they're not paying a single dollar to end Raikkonen's contract.

This guy is a bad ROI. I'd certainly tie any dealings to him with a performance clause. Unfortunately the guy is a little too rich for that to really matter. No guarantee he'll get the job done.

Someone called KR "brilliant". I'd call him mercurial. Certainly not worth the pay he received. IMO, a complete disappointment. At least he won one WDC for the Scuderia. I guess that's worth a few hundred million. Pay has no relation to performance, apparently.

Good for him for getting this kind of compensation with his on-track results, but the people who've paid him ought to be taken out behind the shed and shot.

As shown this season, he's well worth the money. With a well underdeveloped car he's doing pretty good IMO.

Last season the team was mostly behind Massa hence his disappointing season.

Except FM has outshown KR, on average, over the last few seasons. Or, if you prefer, if FM didn't out-drive KR, FM drove at least as well for a fraction of the price. The team didn't "abandon" KR, the team's No.1 driver because he was doing so well...

The team actually never abandoned kimi...they were never in his corner to begin with. ;)
Ferrari put all their money on the wrong "horse" for the wrong reasons...now instead of learning from their mistakes their making the same mistake again with the "new horse". It's amazing that Kimi was able to achieve what he did with so much stacked against him. Kimi's smart to leave.
