Local upholstery guy made a new cover from the old ripped cover as a pattern, that cost $50. The vinyl pattern matches exactly to the old.

I cleaned up the old Tenex fasteners on a stainless wire wheel, used the old cover as a locator for the first Tenex, cut the holes in the vinyl with a hole cutting punch, and located the rest of the fastener locations with the cover in the car, one at a time, with the first one fastened down. A snap ring pliers works well to tighten up the nuts on the back of the Tenex fasteners, took about 20 minutes total.

Of course if you tell me I could have bought a new cover, complete, for $35, I will feel like a fool. :)

Did your guy keep the measurements if you asked him to have another one made. Mine is starting to tear at the bottom and I was thinking of having another one made locally using the old one as a template. The only difference was I was going to have him make it a little longer so the new one won't tear at the bottom like the old one.
My problem is I broke one of the Tenex (sp?) fastners (male) that goes into the carpet. Anyone know where I can get another one?

    Thanks
    Charlie

tenex fasteners are available all over the place, I don't recall where I got them, but all I did was a Google search for "Tenex fasteners" and found lots of sellers.

My car is missing (amoung other things) the storage cover. I'd definitely get one for $50. Can your upholstery guy make another one?

Hmmm, I sense a business opportunity here, T Rutlands wants $289 for a repop cover.

I have my old one as a pattern, and can get new Tenax fasteners, and put the two together and sell these for $145 each plus $15 shipping . Black only unless you can provide a different color swatch to match. Custom made an inch longer wouldn't be a problem.

I have to make some profit to cover my time and expenses above the $50
