Alonso is confirmed for three years at Ferrari replacing Raikkonen starting 2010. Banco Santander paid for Raikkonen to go away, and for Alonso to come and see what damage he can do to the Scuderia.

Controversy follows Alonso at every team for which he drives. He knowingly used the stolen Ferrari documents while at McLaren, and to think he did not ask why he was pitting after 12 laps at Singapore is not very likely. Maybe things will be different this time?

Let's talk turkey,Alonso is the best driver right now,
he'll fit in fine being latin. And remember, and I'm a
Schumacher fan,he did a great jobfighting against him.
Now what Ferrari need to do is hire a younger 2nd driver
to groom for the future like Vettle or Hulkenberg.

No idea... but any potential arguments will be expedited since they can both speak Spanish. :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I guess its a matter of opinion if he is the best or not. Alonso certainly is one of the top 3-4. There comes a time, even in professional sports, that showing classand ethics is more important than winning. Alonso knowingly used the stolen Ferrari documents, and to think he did not ask why he was being pitted on lap 12 in Singapore is a bit of a stretch. If the Renault crash had not occured, Massa might have been the WDC instead of losing by one point. Until the Santander deal was finalized, Ferrari was considering legal action against Renault and Briatore. But, pressure from the Spanish bank ended that.

Santander is the reason for the early change, they are Ferrari's new sponsor, they bankrolled the buyout of Raikkonen's contract.

According to Ferrari, there is NO #1 until someone is fighting for a championship. They proved that the last two years, Massa had an equal car and equal opportunity.

For me, I will still continue to support Massa. But if Alonso is leading a race, I will hope for mechanical ills to strike his car. Yes of course, people can change, but at this time, Alonso is a cancer.

Banco Santander is a Spanish bank, so I'm guessing that Alonso will be Number One.

As for Massa speaking Spanish, he's from Brazil and they speak Portuguese there.

English is the official language of F1.

    Cheers

C'mon Ron, don't jinx Ferrari. At the end of the day we're really only rooting
for Ferrari, regardless of the driver. And as much as I like Schumacher and
Ferrari, they sometimes had their "issues" as far as fighting fair.
Unfortunately every team fights dirty sometimes,Renault of course went
    way too far.

Yes, the Brazilian national language is Portuguese, but Felipe Massa is also fluent in Spanish. ;)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Not jinxing Ferrari, as long as it is driven by Massa, who by the way is of Italian decent so he speaks Italian, the official language of Ferrari. Also Spanish, Portuguese, and that language called For Sure. I think its a derivitive of English. Until further notice Massa is co-number one per Domenicali.

I will hope to put a hex on the engine of the Ferrari driven by Alonso. So I am only rooting for 50% of Ferrari. The other 50% goes to Force India or Brawn.

Two more rumors from the press room in Japan, Kimi was told by Ferrari he could stay on the team in 2010, but if Massa was not his teammate, it would be Schumacher. Despite all the BS about Schumacher not wanting to have Kimi as teammate in 2007, it is Raikkonen that is not keen on being #2. Especially to Schumacher. Schumacher has already indicated he would love the chance to race equal cars with Alonso. But Schumacher's injuries are thought to be permanent, career ending. Too bad.

The other rumor, Hamilton's father is pissed the McLaren would hire Raikkonen and place Lewis as a co #1, so he has made overtures to Mercedes and Brawn for 2010 to replace Button. This is funny, Rosberg is going to Brawn and he is as good a Hamilton, so Hamilton would not be #1 at Brawn. Mercedes is planning to slowly sell off its shares of McLaren, much because of the constant bad press McLaren received the last few years.
