After all the penalties handed out for qualifying, this is what the grid will most likely look like: 1 Vettel 2 Trulli 3 Hamilton 4 Heidfeld 5 Kimi 6 Rosberg 7 Kubica 8 Sutil 9 Rubens 10 Alguersuari 11 Button 12 Fisico 13 Kovalainen 14 Buemi 15 Nakajima 16 Grosjean 17 Alonso 18 Liuzzi 19 Glock 20 Webber
I think Hami is going to take this one or even Kimi. I think that talent really shines on this track, not discounting Vettel, just a feeling on my end.
For the record, these were the top 10 fuel weights: Sebastian Vettel 658.5 kg, Jarno Trulli 655.5, Lewis Hamilton 656, Sutil 650, Barrichello 660.5, Nick Heidfeld 660, Button 658.5, Kimi Raikkonen 661, Kovalainen 675 Buemi 665.4.
I would guess Kimi up to 3rd on the first lap, ahead of Trulli (backwards start) and Heidfeld. He has a lap or two more fuel then Vettel and Hamilton so it could be interesting if his pace is good. But probably Vettel and Hamilton leave him and he cruises to third. (Which just happens to match my F1 tipping, therefore something completely different will happen)
Well last new I read is saying that Kobayashi isn't allowed to run. Let's see if it changes tomorrow.
they just said toyota couldn't have the authorisation to take out Kobayashi, no details. it's 1:39 am in france now, I won't have any news till tomorrow. Maybe you guys will have more updates. edit: although someone found this: ""19) CHANGES OF DRIVER 19.1 a) During a season each team will be permitted to use four drivers. Changes may be made at any time before the start of the qualifying practice session provided any change proposed after 16.00 on the day of scrutineering receives the consent of the stewards. Additional changes for reasons of force majeure will be considered separately."" if that helps.
I read last night that Toyota would have to go to the FIA and do all sorts of tricks to get that other guy to drive since the car was not qualified for the race. this help?? Carol
It really depends on the order in which they apply the penalties and exclusions. E.g., if they apply Buemi's penalty before the Rubens/Button/Sutil/Alonso penalties, and then apply Glock's pit lane, and then Liuzzi's and Kovi's gearbox --- or if they apply them in a different order, the results can be significantly different. E.g. Kubica could start anywhere from 7th to 10th. Maybe they ought to just let 'em race from the garage to the grid.
according to Jon Noble from Autosport 30 minutes ago, a glorious sunny morning at Suzuka. A lot of tired people in the paddock though - and still no grid! Carol
