Yea but it broke down half way to his destination. 348's have more miles behind a tow truck than they do in front of them.....Mark.

    Nice. :)

And here's the Top Gear review of the Ferrari 348: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Top-Gear-19911219_209865.htm (see 0:35 - 8:25)

Look at Jeremy Clarkson's hair and leather jacket! :D

From about 7:05 the build-up starts to a great little piece of footage at 7:36 - 8:25:

"Ooooh - you're simply the best, better than all the rest!
Better than anyone, anyone I've ever met.
I'm stuck on your heart, I hang on every word you say,
Tear us apart no, no, no - I would rather be dead,
    Ooooh, you're the best!"

God I want to be driving that...

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Whilst browsing google... I came across a forum where someone said this

"I remember there was an article in Forza or Cavalino magazine that had legendary racer Brian Redman drive the 348 and he responded to all those "tricky to handle" comments and said clearly its a matter of how good a driver you are, theres nothing wrong with the car."

    Is this quote accurate?

No, after seeing what 355 owners go through to keep their cars running even after having the valve issue fixed more then once, I have to believe that the 355 is the absolute worst Ferrari ever built. That with the header issue truly makes me believe that Montezemolo screwed up the company and the reputation it had. I for one would never buy a Montesemolo era Ferrari, the 355 is beautiful but IMHO a piece of s**t to own. And to all my 355 brothers, dont take me too seriously IMHO :)

    I also agree! :D:D

I have never tracked my car, but I go pretty fast on the street (out of town, quiet road, when no one is around) and I have NEVER EVER had any issues with the handling?? Even before I fit the rear spacers, the car has never felt unsafe at speed. The fastest I have been on the road is around 136 mph, but that is a speedo readout. I think it should be around 128 mph 'true' speed with a GPS. :):)

No problems or issues here with my car and we have very average roads in Mount Isa. I would LOVE to track my car or drive it on nice smooth roads at that speed. :D:D

That C-level ****** said it because he needs to hide the 348 from the public view. If word got out that it was better than their new flaming 458, it would discredit the company. /thread

The 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged is only one tenth of a second (0.1s) slower to 60mph than the Ferrari 348. Yet, it weighs 5800 lbs, and gets 17MPG and is 4WD.

I've had my Rover up to 125 (inadvertently - passing a line of cars) and it got there fast and was still pulling big time... I don't know if the speedo was accurate, but I suspect it was.

Obviously, 15+ years of automotive development have helped. The sport also handles like a sportscar. I'm amazed at the handling frankly.

Only in fantasyland is the 348 better in anyway than the new 458. But hey, fantasyland is a satisfying place to visit, but just don't stay too long...

Sure, it's true about the 348.

But, it's also kinda like saying "She's the ugliest of all the Supermodels" !!!

Aesthetics? The 458 isn't really a pretty car. It's face looks pretty odd and the rear flanks have some sort of thing going on that's really very weird. It might just be that it doesn't photograph well, I'm not sure as I haven't seen one in person. I just can't work out how it's a coherent aesthetic design... it's so busy you can't work out what's supposed to visually flow where.

Technically, the years of development will make it a more capable sports car, and probably a more comfortable car to drive long-distance. But that doesn't mean it's better than the 348 in every respect.

For one thing, it's lacking side strakes!! I mean, what are you supposed to tell your date on the picnic when you've nothing from Ferrari to grate the cheese with?!

    All the best,
    Andrew.

MotorWeek hasn't changed. It still looks as "90's" as it did 20 years ago, and has a funny quality about it, but that cheezy laid-back style keeps it going.

I'm not going to list them in this thread because all Ferrari's are desirable in my opinion, but I think there are less desirable ones than a 348 and one's that could be classified more as the 'worst' Ferrari over a 348.
