"OIL COOLER HOSE LEAK" on 360 after dealer fixed "Thermo Stat Leak" ~ HELP!!

Guys, I have posted earlier regarding to Ferrari Dealer charges me $740 to replace the gasket of my Thermo Stat.

Today dealer called saying that the Thermo Stat leak has been fixed, but there's still coolant leak, dealer suspected the leak is coming from TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HEAT EXCHANGER HOSE, and they want to charge me another $1760 (12.5 Hours of Labor @ $140 per hour) to take a look at it.

Dealer says if its just a loose hose(s), then I don't have to pay for the Hose(s) (dealer says $300 each, so $600 for 2 hoses if necessary).

My questions are:

1. Does really takes 12 hours to check on the TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HEAT EXCHANGER HOSE?

2. Dealer has already charged me $740.00 for Thermo Stat Gasket Replacement, why they didn't check the TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HEAT EXCHANGER HOSE while they replace the Thermo Stat Gasket whenthe intake manifold were removed.

3. Dealer has changed my clutch recently, could the leak be their fault (possible they twisted my steel oil cooler line, because they are connecting to the heat exchanger hose)?

 

Too many things going wrong here. Whilst sometimes another problem could show after doing the first job/service, the shop is not seeming too competent IMO.

 

What would you do if you were me?

 

Heat exchanger is under the intake manifold which would require removal, if it needed to be changed. I have NEVER EVER changed one. Clamps come loose fairly regularly, I tighten them up as part of every oil change for crying out loud. Your dealer is taking you for a ride my friend.

 

Crawl in there yourself with a mirror if necessary and find it. It ain't rocket science, and I don't care how "busy" or "I don't know about motors" you are, you can see a leak if you look for it!

The dealer needs to fix the thermo stat leak first because this is the main symptom.However technician do a pressure test to the cooling system to make sure no leakage at the thermo stat and check any other leakage.In the F360 the clamp of water hose always loose,need to retighten everyone.In my experience,there is no need to replace the intake manifold for retighten the clamps of the heat exchanger cooler.Remove the engine cover behind the seat can do this.

 

didnt you say you had the head gaskets replaced recently in a different post.The probably didnt alighn the oil cooler properly when they re installed it.it has to be "clocked" correctly or the hoses will always leak.If this is the same shop that did the head gaskets then they shold fix it and not charge you.If it is another shop then the price is a little high but if the have to correct other issues caused by the previous shop its not bad.The joys of owning a ferrari.

 

Never heard of removing the intake to do up the clamps. You can reach them from the front once the panel behind the seat is out. If it IS just leaking from the clamps it sounds like they are trying to pull your pants down.....
