Did I mention a REALLY MAJOR service was completed a few hundred miles ago? New pistons, rings, main bearings, rod bearings, cam bearings, rebuilt heads, (all via Norwood Performance - full build sheet documented), new belts, new tensioner bearings, rebuilt carbs, all new gaskets, seals, ceramic coated headers, new clutch, Nick's Forza Electromotive ignition system, new Larini exhaust, new fuel hoses, coolant hoses, etc., etc.

General on car, new suspension (adjustable coil overs), wheel bearings, bushings, paint, new windshield, new carpet, interior, refinished original wheels, new tires, etc. Full documentation on car rebuild (excel sheet with every piece - and receipts - near $30k parts alone), full owner records back to every spark plug change, original owners manual, tool kit.

Price update, $39,000. Lower prices considered but must bring beer and crying towel.

:) Your car is probably >90% of the yellow Newman GTB for <50% of the price. There has to be a buyer for both cars, good luck!

Hmmm, that might be a bit of a stretch. More likely 40% of the yellow Newman GTB for <50% of the price. You really can't compare the Newman "nut and bolt" job to this, albeit very nice, repaint and engine rebuild job. Apples and Bananas, in my opinion.

Am I the apple, or the banana? Anyway, nice just to be in the same fruitcake with Newman.

On another front, as I have posted I would consider a trade for a Lotus Exige, but also have in mind a 355. I know the Exige and 355 are different animals, but still a couple I have lusted over for a few years now.

You got my attention, I have to admit I am not in the market for a 308 but you have done a fine job on this one. Is it still available?

You must be the apple, as the Newman car is yellow, hence the banana reference...LOL!

    Yaaaaawwwwwnnnnnn! Scratch, scratch.... ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

Been hibernating...whats up Ferrari world? I finally have an Exige, and still have the 308. New springtime lust....355. I like them as fixer uppers - the ones everyone says to run from. Anybody out there with a 355 problem child you may want to consider trading for a 308?

Just found this thread!! Great read...

It seems you did a great job with this car. I hope you find what you are looking for with it...have you been driving it at all lately???

Yeah, I broke a rule or two, but for the good in my opinion. Cheers.

Thanks, I will be driving it this spring again, but it is still WINTER in a big way here. I sold my Ducati 999 to help fund the Exige, so not as motivated now to move the 308 (plus I just love the way it sounds and drives).

But I want a 355 and even thinking about a 360 with prices doing what they are. Probably more of a 1 to 3 year plan, and time to enjoy the 308 a bit.

Can I ask if you sprayed or hand painted the por 15? Apparently it goes on pretty good by brush, so I'm wondering if I can get away with hand painting it on.

    Thanks

I have always brushed it on - never sprayed. It "flows out" pretty nicely almost to a powder coated look. It works particularly well on freshly sandblasted pieces that have a little "bite" to the surface.

Thank you. That is great news. While I do have a sandblaster I don't as yet have a cabinet so I'll try using my 6" grinder and a wire wheel attachment to clean the components up ... maybe followed by some rough sanding.

Will give it a go this weekend :).

    Yes, it is. ;)

Seriously, your paint job looks absolutely fantastic. And you really did it right.

There are a lot of really beautiful exterior colors for 308s, and gorgeous interior/exterior combinations as well. Red Ferraris might be really popular, but I think they made so many of 'em red for a reason. I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

    Car is still for sale.

No one generally goes this direction, but would consider trade for a 355.

    Cheers.

Yes it is actually - and very fairly priced to reflect the market conditions. Open to trades. PM if interested.

    Cheers.
