I found today a quite interesting magazine local magazine store. "Octane Classic & Performance Cars issue 77/2009." Lamborghini vs Ferrari Clash of the Titans Lamborghini 350GT vs Ferrari 330GT Lamborghini Miura SV vs Ferrari Daytona Lamborghini Countach LP400 vs Ferrari 512BB Lamborghini Diablo vs Ferrari 550 Maranello Lamborghini Murciélago LP670 SV vs Ferrari 559 Fiorano HGTE. I haven't read that yet, but seems quite good. Has anyone heard about this? All Lambos are right hand drive.
Lets not forget that Wilt Chamberlin once owned a 5000S! Not sure of his height but he was over 6ft 8in and surely he was a bit scruntched.
What language is the magazine in? Can you scan and post the relevant articles? Would deserve its own thread if you could...
Several years back a Countach spare wheel/tire was for sale on ebay, seller mentioned it was from Wilt Chamberlain's car which was modded in order for him to fit. I always imagined his feet and pedals in the front trunk - bet his head was touching the headboard though ...............
From what has been published by others, his Countach had the seat entirely removed for him to fit in. A racing mat was used instead. He claims in his book that he drove if all the way from New York to Los Angeles.
With the specific cars compared, for sheer driving exhilaration (isn't that what its all about?) I'm thinking the Lamborghini wins in every class.
I believe this is one of 3 Countach LP400 assembled in South Africa - for tax reasons sold by the works for assembly by a company set up to complete the cars there in RHD guise. I'm not sure of all the details, but perhaps someone can enlighten us. Image Unavailable, Please Login
correct they took all old lambos as winners, except the diablo must be said: the writer tells that the diablo is faster, rawer and more fan to drive but he prefers the 550 just because the lambo is too extreme for his taste
Would there be a valuation difference for these cars you think? Are there any physical differences between them and those assembled in Sant'Agata Bolognese?
