    Once....

Actually, with a big turbo, intercooler, and a port nitrous system you could probably get close for brief periods of time. You'd need a LOT of fuel flow, and some stronger-than-stock head sealing. I can't see that as a 500 HP real world motor.

Of course, my buddy Aaron has gotten 700 HP out of a Toyota MR2 motor.

Its very possible, its not difficult to make 500hp. Proper engine management, fuel system(42lb injectors, pump), and the turbo/IC, fairly easy actually.

I like this line in the ad:

"With 1000 Kg, the ratio power/weight is very low"

    In that case, no thanks

Of course there's a lot of nonsense in the ad, but it's a pretty cool toy.

It was on www.race-cars.com and says sold there.
Looks like a real race car on that site. Full race 308 turbo cars can make 800. 500 should be reasonable for a 3.2 V8.

it is probably an estimate of hp @ the crank.
but it is also probably not far from the truth.
mine is pumping out well over 400 @ the crank without an intercooler, low boost, and on pump gas.
Norwood tuned it rather conservatively andshe drives around town Better Than Stock. we believe that with proper dyno time, there is room for more power with no further mods. we will be exploring this over the winter
    ........stay tuned for that

turbocharging is without a doubt the most efficient way to maximize the power for any given fuel quality on a street car. in this case a race car :)

you definitely need lots of fuel.
i feel 500hp is realistic and obtainable in a street situation -at least @ the crank.

crank hp and wheel hp are VERY different in these cars.

but expensive! ive seen many grand nationals and turbo supras that make MUCH MUCH more power than this on engines with very similar displacement. what kind of fuel they are running and how streetable these engines are, thats another story. ;)

Well, with forced induction or nitrous, streetable is usually not an issue since the car can behave almost exactly as stock until the boost comes up/nitrous comes in. The level of boost applied or N2O amount (and appropriate additional fuel) injected will determine the HP which, along with how long and how often it is applied, will determine the longevity and reliability of the motor. Generally, it is considered that HP increases of around 33% will not adversely affect stock engines/drivetrains. Beyond that and it depends greatly on how the engine was designed in the first place.

500hp ? Absolutely possible with efi / engine managment and forced induction.

I'm making nearly 400hp with my bolt on blower and K-jet CSI, stock ignition with a CDI box. (330+ rwhp). I think mke (Mark Eberhard) on this forum was making 500+ hp from his seriuosly supercharged QV motor.

Looks like it's one of them there new fangled plug-in hybrids (see pic 12).

At least there's a solid looking roll cage in the car to save your noggin when all 500hp kicks in on boost/nox...

Is your car a 328, QV or 2V?
    -Just curious.
I completely agree BTW. In fact, there are 3.2 litre race engines out there all over the place making 400 nat aspro hp with EFI.
