Benoit sometimes is brilliant and the first to break a story and sometimes is dead wrong.

I thought that Bernie's comments had a lot more weight.

Still I don't quite get it why we haven't seen a RPM segment on Speed TV of this place: There is lots of stuff to show and it would be highly interesting to US viewers to see the birth and growing of their own F1 team.

PS: Should have listened to journo Brunner from speedweek.ch who told me personally that USF1 is for real. I didn't believe him. My bad.

Good news, but I wonder why, if they're as progressed as the pics make it seem, Bernie should have said what he did?

No harm no foul; too many rumors to try and keep track of with all the insanity/stupidity surrounding F1, the FIA this year........

According to the interview with Bernie, he was going by "what he was hearing" and what people were telling him. It was soon after these rumors came out that FIA and FOM reps were to have visited each of the new teams' factories to check on progress.

Once again, here is a video of the interview:

(Tennis announcer) . . . "GAME! SET! AND MATCH!"

There is no response to this. Windsor's factory exists only in his mind.

The following is from a report this morning.

The new U.S. F1 team have started building their 2010 car and will have it finished in time for testing in January, team principal Ken Anderson said on Wednesday.

"Our world headquarters is now complete and fully functional, and the 2010 race car is in the construction phase," Anderson said in a Q&A released by the team based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"Thanks to our in-house design and engineering staff and the aid of our technical partners, for the last 10 to 12 months, the car has gone through thousands of iterations in a virtual environment," he added.

"With this virtual design, we can test and be sure that it's right from structural, design and engineering standpoints, so we don't have to make a part, test it, break it and start again.

"Our timing is according to plan, with an early November "roller" and a finished car in time for January 2010 testing," said Anderson.

He said a number of staff recruited from other Formula One teams would be joining formally at the end of the month.

"Building a team and a world-class manufacturing facility are a work-in-progress but we're ahead of schedule and are excited about going racing next year," added Anderson.

latest gossip is NO american drivers....kinda sucks for Jon Summerton or Graham Rahal....Windsor slams the current us drivers as not being suitable.........why not give a deserving us guy a seat, they'll be a backmarker anyway so what does it matter?? the races could be the testing - sounds as if there's no hope for these guys to get a superlicense....

from Windsor: Team US F1 is unlikely to run an all-American driver line-up when it comes into Formula 1 next year, and could end up not running one in either seat.

Team principal Peter Windsor told AUTOSPORT that because of the delays caused by the late signing of the Concorde Agreement at the end of July and the lack of suitable American candidates, it is likely to employ at least one overseas driver.

Finally there are some glimpses of something!

The big problem with the whole thing is how contradictory Windsors own comments have been, and now Anderson is changing the timelines from past comments.

The principles need to communicate a little, maybe that's why there has been so little leak out?

I wonder if Rahal would gain from running around at the back. I think their sights are set on Indy unless a GOOD F1 test contract was on the table.

I would wonder also, but then again why would ex-F1 drivers want to be running in the back unless perhaps like Alex who was trying to get his own team and is just doing it to get in the door in another direction??? if he were to drive and if the Canadian GP in fact does take place on the specified date..he'd be giving up the possibility of another LeMans overall win to add to his cv

LOL! Would be nice...although I would bet that such clips would only stay up if they were property of USF1, not FOMC. Bernie isn't going to give any piece of the pie away for free.

Which brings up the question; how come Williams can have F1 in their title but USF1 cannot? Aren't there are few other teams that have F1 in their name as well?

Of course, if one started a team such as this it would be prudent to do as they have and keep a little scepticism and intrigue. What betting that we will be seeing a two or three hour special on the birth of the american formula one team! Probably try to get that out on a network. That'll bring in $$, other reality shows seem to pay big if you can throw a m/cycle or rat rod together (have you seen the hack job some of them do!).

They CAN have "F1" in their title, now that they have been accepted onto the 2010 grid. Bernie had an issue with it a few months ago because they were, at that time, not an official Formula One entry, but I believe the name 'Team USF1' or 'USF1 Team' is good to go.
