Great! Where ya goin Vic? (a little late, but I'm 6foot 3.5inches and fit great in my 88, but don't fit well in lowbody's)
I had understood from Del Hopkins ex head of serivce of Lambo UK that there were cars sold in crate form to South Africa to beat the local import taxes. From what I recall he said these were late 70's cars about 1978 and was done primarily by the factory as they were desperate for cash. He was quite dismissive about these cars and their build quality. I think he said it was Espadas and I dont recall him saying anything about Countachs. I would have thought they would be worth significantly less than the factory assembled ones. I think he said it was two or three cars were sold that way. Teh conversation was back in 93/94 so I may have details wrng Paul Scotland UK
It took me years to get it... Hopefully I managed to trace it in Texas when I was living there. Seems to be quite rare. By the way, I was lucky to find the smaller version on eBay some month ago. Hope you'll find it! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I got some extra photos of this brochure, and it was complete, folded twice, as these usually are. BTW, I'm also on the lookout for another one...
Its rather where I have been. The photo was taken at the motel in Dublin OH the morning of George Evan's labor day weekend show. It just looked to good sitting there on the trailer that I just couldn't pass on the photo. Vic
Had it not been for the 600 mile road trip from Atlanta Georgia to Dublin Ohio I would have. I was on vacation so I decided to take it with me to Buffalo New York after the show. I know who goes to Buffalo NY for a vacation well at least it didn't SNOW! Now that would look odd, a snowplow on a Countach almost like an oversized american front bumper treatment only made for Western New Yorkers. All this talk about snow reminds me of a story that I read involving the late Jas Rarewala Sp?? delivering a Countach in a snow storm over in Europe. Vic
