Wasnt able to make it ended up having to help a close friend. Looks like a great day too. We should try and get a huge turn out for either the upcomming sat or the second sat next month. . .
Great Indoors: 8/22/09 Car of the day had to be the 1936 Delahaye that was raced at LeMans and in the Monaco Grand Prix! Amazing car to see on the street before it heads off to run in the Colorado Grand next month Then after hanging out at the GI a few of us headed out for a drive down to Castle Pines to check out the Vintage Car Club show which included a 1920's Bugatti as well as many other cars. Then a drive back to FoD to check out what they had, followed then by lunch A good day indeed.
Sold my Mondial t cab.... and taking the RTD bus to a C&C event is none too cool. Have a good event. I DO Hope that folks show up since this is the "official" date Second Saturday of the month. John
Big car show up at Daveco Liquors tomorrow, will probably steal a majority of attendees. Last I heard they were looking for about 35 more exotics/muscle cars to bring the show total up to 200. I'm taking a bunch of guys from my Porsche Breakfast Club and Rocky Mountain Sharks over to Cars and Coffee - Southlands at 7:15 am for a caravan drive up to Daveco Liquors. Hope some folks from here will join us! Oh and the car show is FREE! Erik - PBC Organizer/moderator
Great Indoors Saturday October 10 I have been talking with Mark (white Scud) about doing a drive some Saturday after going to the Great Indoors, and we decided we were going to go for a drive after the October 10th meet, and invite everyone and their friends to join us. Not sure where we are going, or how long a drive it will be, but that is the date, and you know where to find us. We may leave before 10am, so this is one of those GI meets that being too "casually late" to may mean you miss out on joining in the fun. Plan is to get a bite to eat somewhere after the drive. See you there! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I plan on being there and hope to meet up with some other guys (05011994, berthod32, etc.) on the way down. This may be the last chance we have to meet up before the weather turns white. -F
I am planning on going. Hope to see some of the guys there. Will also be bringing a '90 TR (Black/Black with 29K miles). I am assisting a local guy with the sale. Anyone looking?
Last time I did the Great Indoors C&C, we drove from there to a car show at a shopping center off E470. Lots of fun, but I later got a toll notice (about $7) from E470, which I paid online. Three days ago, I received not one, but THREE, notices of unpaid tolls AND FINES totaling about $240! This was the first I heard of any additional unpaid tolls and fines, but I attribute that, possibly, to the fact that I bought a new house this summer, and perhaps the Post Office neglected to forward the initial toll notices. I was given to understand that it is possible to contest whether the violation occurred, but not the amount of the fine. Since I WAS on E470 that day, I can't argue that the violation did not take place, and there is no mechanism in place to argue to have the fines reduced. The bottom line is that I would be willing to go to C&C at The Great Indoors, but I intend to stay the he11 off C470.
When we head out for the drive on Saturday we will NOT take the toll road BTW that seems a bit crazy regarding the bump in fines!
I will be there too! That's true this could be one of the last opportunities to stretch my 348's legs before the long winter in the garage.
If anybody is interested, I will still be hosting the Porsche Breakfast Club meeting on Saturday morning at 8:00 am., at the Village Inn Restaurant at I-25 and Colorado Blvd. in Denver. It is open to ALL car buffs, so please join us on Saturday. You may not be able to drive the sports cars, but we can still talk about them over a hot cup of coffee and breakfast. Thanks!
