I just picked up a 1992 348 ts euro model.

the badge on the back says its a 348 gts, the registration says its a TS.
could it be that the euro models changed to gts a year before the U.S. models did?

    or do I have a 93 that is registered as a 92,

    OR

did the last owner just change the rear badge...
    thanks

Dave, did you register in the 348 registry? Congrats on the acquisition of a magnificent model :D:D

I am not 100% certain on the TS vs GTS, but someone who does know will soon chime in and get you the answer.

Dave, Your going to love the TS, Im not a convertable guy so i went with the TS and it was by far best choice. The best of both worlds. The top comes off but you still have the beautiful roof line of the coupe. Enjoy

You can find the production date and the model year on the plaque in the drivers door jamb.

A genuine GTS should have the later F119H engine, and I think the seat belt anchors are moved to the outer sides of the car behind the seats, rather than between the seats. The GTB & GTS were introduced in October 1993, so I don't think you could have a 1992 GTS.

The serial number range for the GTS is between 96826 and 99197 - anything earlier is NOT a GTS, it's just a rebadged TS.

I'm loving already, just took it for a drive today with a smile on my face!

Nice, I will check the numbers and get to the bottom of this little mystery.
    thanks for the insight.

From 348 resources I've read, my understanding is that the GTS and GTB are both Euro models only. All original US models are TS or TB. Post pics of your new car!

The simple way to know if you have a GTS is to look at the plenum. The GTS/GTB have the taller plenum top. The picture below is what the GTB/GTS plenum looks like. The picture is of a spider, but the top is still the same. Then if you want you can have a look at the engine block for the H motor, and the dead nuts for sure method is to check the v.i.n.

The taller plenum is probably the EASIEST way, yes! :p:p

That and checking the numbers is the way to go. :):)
