Anyone know what happened to the fast bowlers 246?
My recollection is that when he got his first big dollar contract with 4IP - about 60k a year - he bought the 308GT4. I though he drove a ute before that..
****.. why would you get rid of a 246 for a 308?? Not a pretty car new, I had a good mate bought one and he couldn't fully explain it - ended up driving his Corniche a lot more. It took 35 years for the design to become sort of cool!!
Thats the period I talking about, my mate bought his new at the end of '76 - I didn't understand it then and I'm not sure he did either but then he had a fairly eclectic garage - the Corniche coupe with a build motor, a 6.9 Merc, the 308, an old Porche and a 528 BMW which was his day to day car.. I think it was a yuppie thing before there was such a thing!!
I remember the GT4 being purchased after the 4IP contract. NOt sure about the 246. They weren't exactly thick on the ground and there was no dealer here either at the time. In fact I know of one car being with a Brisbane owner from new.
Not that its relevant to this thread but Greg Norman had a GT4 around the same time....just thought I would add that in
