I'm starting to think that perhaps he was being sarcastic??? But his lack of comment since suggests embarrassment at the feedback. Hmm...

Now, to be 100% green, all it needs is 3 Ferraris in it! :D

We bought an old Spanish Colonial house with an attached 3-car garage with 10' doors. But we want to store 5 cars in it without changing the exterior appearance of the house. So we're starting a major re-model project. I will document as we go. Here is a before shot. Requirements are:

    1. Do not change the exterior appearance of the house.
    2. The interior design must match the interior design of the house (i.e., Spanish Colonial). That is, more house-like and less garage-like.
    3. You can still do a complete service on any car with easy clean-up.
    4. Still maintain some of the attic for storage (there is a large attic above the current ceiling).
    5. Design must meet the newest local building codes, especially for fire and earthquake.
    6. Very easy for cars to enter and exit.
    7. People will want to hang out in the garage!

Cool Bill! I cant wait to see pics of the re-model! :D:D

I am building a new 6 car garage next year. Similar to yours I reckon. I want 3-extra wide double doors across the front. 2 cars will take up each door so I can drive them in and out without moving any other cars around. :D:D

That sounds like it will be fantastic when it is complete. Great collection of cars you have too.

Can't wait to see finished pics.

So where are you keeping all your cars during the remodel? Giving your house the "trailer park look" by covering your lawn with Enzo's, 360's, and Carrera GT's?

That "green" garage is a seriously over priced agenda driven project. Sorry, but that is rediculous.

HERE is how to build a garage addition :) It holds 70 cars

Yes, we did think about adding a fold-down Murphy bed!

The details take the longest.. polished cement flooring, custom lifts from Bendpak, Spanish tile wainscoat, venetian plaster, wood cabinets, stone counters, LED and halogen lighting, alarms, computers, electrical, pressurized air, garage doors, hidden garage tracks, balcony flooring and railing, bar, media system, etc.

We'll probably do 80-90% and live with it for a while to see how we really use stuff. I rarely use counters, so we'll probably not have much of those. I'm thinking we'll use antique bookcases for display cases rather than built-ins.

Plus I need to find a spot for these incredible Enzo models I found in Modena...

Nice models but I couldn't help notice the granite. I have the exact same counter top. Cool, sorry continue.

Glad to see you guys appreciate the details! Our decorator usually helps us narrows down the stone choice to match the look we're going for. Then we visit several stone yards that she finds to pick the actual slab. I don't know the name for that granite, or even if it has a name. But I can find out if you're really interested.

We'll be doing the same for the garage surfaces (e.g., counter tops, floor, walls, wainscoat, ceiling and cabinets). Deciding on surfaces is very time consuming, but it really adds to the overall effect.

I thought I recognized that house. I showed him the picture of the Centenaire edition Veyron I saw in London and told him he needs to upgrade :D
