    That's a superb idea and solution to get your car painted without the engine installed.

    Perhaps another couple of brackets and casters bolted to the front hubs would result in a very mobile car.

    Dont worry, they are very strong!! clears up a lift for another engine out while your valve covers, intakes and exhaust are sent out. :)

    The castors are welded to a plate that has holes matching where the engine cradle bolts on. I have seen that type of system before. The one thing you have to remember is not to push the car around by the back or you will create more stress on the buttress area. To avoid this you could fab 2 support bars.

    Sure Ill shoot a pic tomorrow when I get to the shop, all it took was two 3/4 steel plates and a set of heavy duty wheels. Oh and a welder ;)

    It is a great idea. When I worked for Brian Crall I used them often. I don't know how long ago he made the casters but he had two sets and they looked as though they had been around for a while.

    I am aware that the buttress area can be weak when the engine is in place (care needed when jacking etc) but I would have thought that there would be little stress on the buttresses when pushing the "empty" car around on the jockey wheels. Thoughts anyone?
