NASCAR body template. Jim might get point docked during the chase for unauthorized body modifications!

To avoid that we're going to fix that and reshape her.

Are you planning on modifying this body or creating a new one? Who will be the panel beaters?

We'll use a lot of what we have and create the rest.

Fantastic. Preservation rules. That said, is the current body a period/older replacement? IIRC, it's had at least one other body. I've done a quick search and can't find details. Regardless, it's wonderful to see an important car being made historically correct.

The current body was made under the direction of Stan Nowack in the 60ies when he removed the Motto body. It was pretty good but we want to make it better.

    Jim,

Do you have information on what actually happened to the original body; pre-Motto?

Do you have pictures of how the car is going to look? What made you want to return it to how it originally was?

This was the car in the early nineties, when it came fresh from restoration by Piet Roelofs in the Netherlands. Shot was taken at Zandvoort during the "Italia a Zandvoort" event on July 4th 1993.

    Mr. G.,

Could you not use Collier's 015C, which retains it's original bodywork, as a buck for a replacement?

Or were the two cars always sufficiently dissamilar for this not to be viable?

    Thanks.

Different. We're using an original blueprint which matches period photographs.

Jim, if you will post the pictures you have I can compare them to what I have of the car at Turin as well as when acquired by the Bessana bros.It looks like the car was the same when Gabriel took it to Argentina where it rarely was actually raced and then returned to Italy. I have a number of pictures which might be of help including before and after the 8 and 9 bar grill change. just one man's opinion tongascrew
