Hi, everyone. It's been quite some time since I have posted here. I did a search and found some good information on the AMEX Black/Centurian card, but not the Visa card. Got an "invitation" the other day for the Visa. I Google'd and found some mixed reviews on it's overall value.

For anyone that actually HAS and is currently using this card, have you found it of any value? If so, in what way(s)?

    Thanks in advance,
    Eggman.

They say its only for 1% or something but everyone has one... I got the offer in the mail and was excited thinking Amex finally realized how good of a customer I've been for the last 9 years but no it was Visa.. Trickery!!

I think it costs $500 annual fee, not worth it to have the middle class black card lol...
Not sure what the value added features are, I never looked into it.
My plain Amex gold does great things for me. They just replaced a $1800 Fridge in my house(built in 03) It had a factory 5 year warranty and amex adds 1 year on top of that. Compressor shorted the starting capacitor and burned some wiring so the estimate to repair was too high so the said replace it.. I didn't even have the reciept so they looked it up and found the bill from 2003, charged me $5.00 for the old copy of the bill. I bought the new one put it on amex and the next month I got a credit for the old one. Can't beat that for $295 year. Plus right now I have 285k points, which is worth around $2500 in gift cards.

Couldn't AMEX shut this down? Would this trademark/copyright infringement?

Its worthless! This is the card issued by Barclays right? Most regular platinum cards are better than this with no fees.
For 500 bux people are buying an image, period.

Kills me...........this card is supposed to be exclusive.............yet it's advertised all over the internet.............you don't see or hear of centurion or accolades or ??????? being advertised. Been real happy with my black amex accolades with waived yearly fees.

AMEX never trademarked the name Black Card, it was only ever a nickname. Visa caught onto this and scooped it right up, scotch free.

Don't get me started, their marketing lacks bigtime. Their print ad's are horrible...

It's probably the same as the AMEX black (centurian or whatever), but better since it is not an AMEX product.
    Visa>Amex...

I had to look up what my World Elite Platinum Level M/C card meant: http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/permalink/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20060907005807&newsLang=en

It doesn't match the Amex plat, but those are the only two cards I carry.

Actualy, only those 2 cards, my DL, and a money clip.
