I'm returning to the WP Concours this yr with the 250 after a hiatus last November. Are there enough Fchatters planning attendance this year for a lunch?

Do you mind telling me more details about the event? If the expected turn out is that great and depending on the day, I would love to carpool up with you. Hopefully get some local guys together to drive up.

The WP Concours is a relatively high quality regional show in a pleasing setting. The emphasis is clearly on vintage metal, and the judging standards basically mirror larger events. It's a fun day with a variety of cars at a great time of the year.

Thanks for replying back and filling me in on the event. I would like to attend, work and weather permitting. Is the event free to the public to view cars?

Also, would you go Saturday or Sunday?

I'll be driving up Sunday early with my car - leaving around 645AM to register by 830. It's free for everyone to enjoy!

 

I'll be there. I am planning on both the rally on Saturday and the concours on Sunday.

Concours participants, their guests, and sponsors gather for the Tour d’Elegance, considered by many to be the heart and soul of the weekend; where old friends are reunited and new friendships are made. It's a time when participants can workout their cars in a social, relaxed environment.

The day starts with participants arriving for a gourmet breakfast in Hannibal Square, Winter Park. Over 100 Vehicles are expected to participate in this year’s tour, everything from vintage Ferraris to contemporary Audis. Once Breakfast is complete, it's time to enjoy the open road!

Escorted by the Winter Park Police, participants will follow a pre-determined route, designed by the local Porsche Club, ending with a fabulous lunch at an undisclosed location. It promises to be unique and exciting!




An elegant evening of Fine Cuisine, Premium Open Bar, Specialty Martini Bar, California Wine Bar, Cigar Bar, & Entertainment

After the conclusion of Saturday’s Tour d’Elegance guests are invited to attend the Concours’ Signature Event, The duPont REGISTRY LIVE Aeroport Reception with proceeds going to benefit the show’s marquee charity. Staged inside 3 private and handsomely decorated aircraft hangars, participants experience the high-octane thrill of mingling among the world’s most exotic cars, a fabulous display of vintage & contemporary aircraft, high performance boats, custom motorcycles, and premium luxury lifestyle product displays. The “who’s who” of elite southeastern automotive enthusiasts are feted with great entertainment, exquisite foods, and super premium beverages; all to create a truly memorable evening.


REGISTRATION . . . . . . 8:00am - 10:30am

Registration opens in Central Park, in a tent on the corner of Morse Blvd. & Park Ave. Participants can pick up their registration packets, placards, gift bags, posters and tickets. Stewards will assist in parking vehicles.

CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE
Open Viewing: 10:00am - 5:00pm . . . . Awards: 3:30pm

For automotive enthusiasts, the Sunday Concours will be the moment they have all been waiting for. Over 200 rare & exotic automobiles and motorcycles will be placed for display and judging on fashionable Park Avenue. The Avenue runs parallel to the beautifully manicured Central Park and makes for an exquisite setting. Last year crowds were well over 50,000.

Notable marques include Aston Martin, Jaguar, Austin Healey, Mercedes Benz, MG, Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Morgan, Triumph, Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus, and Volvo, with special exhibits of original Hot Rods, American Muscle Cars, Classic Corvettes, American Classics, Audi and BMW. In addition, any rare, unusual, limited production, exotic cars will be considered for the Special Interest Class.

THE AWARDS PRESENTATION . . . . . . 3:30pm - 5:00pm

Once the staff of judges make their final decisions, the award winners will be driven into Central Park, past the cheering crowds, to accept their awards in front of a lavishly appointed stage. Over 60 trophies will be awarded including the very special Best of Show trophy.

The local media will be on hand to capture all the action as the lucky winners accept their awards. This year promises to be even more spectacular!

 

Thanks for posting this. I live in ATL but I'm CEO of a company in Ocala and I spend every other weekend or so in Ocala. I've been looking for car guy stuff to do on weekends!

I'll be there. I'm hoping the weather will be a little cooler than the near 90 we've been having lately.

 

I'm flying back from Vegas late Friday night so I will try to make and see some familar faces!

I too would also like to plan on going Sunday morning. If you would like, let's try and round up local guys to meet and drive up together.

Free to register by 830 am Sunday, correct? I have no desire to show my car. Is there somewhere close and safe to park?

So pick a spot, lunch at 1 PM, and everyone that sees this, well, just show up and hope they will seat us all together. I hope to be there...but won't know until Friday.

 

David, if I remember correctly, there is a lot of public open lot parking adjacent to the show. I don't think you have to worry. Nobody touched my 1996 Olds wagon......

 

I just got off the phone with Valentino Balboni. He is going to fly in Saturday evening before the winter Park Concours and will be in attendance on Sunday. Here is your chance to meet a legend. He will also be going to Daytona for "le Belle Machinne d'Italia on the 13th,14th and 15th. If you want to see the worlds greatest test driver don't miss Daytona this year. By the way, another racing legend, five time Le mans winner, Derek Bell, will also be there with the new Bentley Continental Supersport. I'm planning on a 645a roll out from NE St. Pete. I recall you live in South Tampa... I can meet you off 275, perhaps at Westshore Mall, if you'd like to caravan over there. It would be a fun group drive!

My flight lands in Orlando 12:30PM Sunday so I may stop by for an hour just to see what's up. Hopefully some nice rides show up.

 

I am still contemplating whether or not I am going to go. Do not get me wrong, I love to see cars, but I would rather be driving. Yes, we would drive there but, 1 2 turns btwn 85 miles is not my idea of driving...now if we can get some people to dust their cars off and plan a caravan then it'd be a different story...

 

I have a charity golf event that tees of at 09:00 Sunday. Not sure when all the event related activities are over, but will try to make the last few hours (3-5pm).
