Was that silver 599 yours DM? I think it has to be the only silver 599 i've seen here.
http://orientaldaily.on.cc/cnt/news/20091018/00176_030.html For the non Chinese readers - the black on black enzo was busted yesterday for using T-plates and owner was arrested for improper use of T-plates. Looks like the police are starting to enforce the rules now! Pity its an Enzo though, should arrest those RHD T-plate cars instead like the dozens of GT3RS, Scuds and even some normal 430 spyders!!
Interesting story. Agree that the target should be RHD cars that can be registered but are not to save tax. LHD exotics are rarely used and cannot be registered.
My friend is not in the car business. He applies for moving permit to drive his LHD 63' Corvette Stingray if he wants to drive it out. He needs to write a letter stating the drive out purpose and destination to be approve by the traffic department. That is only the legal way to drive LHD in Hong Kong for "non dealer". It is time consuming, but it can be done.
Many HK F chatters are usng T plates for years. Its interesting now that police is finally taking action. So SMD drivers must be riding wtih an employee of a registered dealer per ODN. This is getting interesting!!!
I have heard the same thing. Question remains: can a dealer drive a LHD car with a T Plate? Whether the dealer is a legitimate dealer is another question.
No problem for car dealer drive LHD car with T-plate if he is using it for transport the car. I always see those brand new fresh off the boat LHD Mercedes running on the route from Kwai Chung to highway#3 toward China boarder.
So how do you become a 'legitimate' dealer in the eyes of the government? Simply register a business with the description of 'car dealer/importer/exporter etc.'? Or must you have some kind of government license in order to buy/sell cars for business?
There are 2 issues here. Registered as a dealer/importer/trader. Then securing a T plate from TD. The first one is easy as its a business licence. Second I believe require proof U are a trading concern. Then the big issue is find an insurace company that will grant you coverage. I believe he max amount is $300k. Also the sunset ruling. Perhaps the local AA may help.

I wonder if it's the same 360 w/ 430 wheels that was spotted by RWP in post #1141: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186361&page=58
Oops, I forgot to blank out the plate in that one. btw, there's a Gallardo Balboni in Happy Valley, Car Doctor. First in HK? Haven't seen one before.
Hi, I haven't posted anything here for a while, so I picked out a few worthy spots over the hundred or so photos I took of cars in the past 2 months. Go to my gallery for more: http://picasaweb.google.com/home?hl=en&tab=wq Note: According to RWP, The silver 599 may very well belong to one of our members here. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more owners here Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
