Flickr's user interface remains counter intuitively to me, but when I realized I had over 100 pics I fainted at the thought of trying to upload that to FChat, 4 pics at a time. Ouch.

That's one of those super rare one off cars I found:

1954 375 Mille Miglia Ghia Coupe, sn 0476

the last Ferrari ever bodied by Ghia

    Thanks.

We went to Vegas for a long weekend to have fun. The thought of Ferrari chasing was secondary if not tertiary. So it came as quite a surprise to find all those trouvailles.

    Did you spot the $ 100,000 308?
    :)

Too bad you missed me! I was hanging out at Hard Rock as usual.

Vegas is a great place to own and drive a Ferrari. Aside from the Strip, traffic is relatively light. Roads are pretty good unless they are under construction, the weather is generally nice, you can get out of town easily, parking is not a problem and the Valet's are professionals who know how to treat your car right, and the Wynn dealership is very accomidating if you have a problem.

Oh --- as a side benefit -- strippers and other babes like them.

Come back when CitiCenter is open later this year. It's going to be awesome!

Yeah, bummer I missed you. Had a coupon for the Hardrock. :)

Vegas has fantastic streets, no question, but some of the longest redlight phases I've ever seen in my life. Particularly down the strip it is insane. Also for the pedestrians.

Here a shot of Citycentre from my hotel room. When complete this place will rock! We were thinking about buying a condo there. Probably one of those things where in 10 years from now I'll say "gee, had I only...".

PS: Could somebody please pull the plug on "Believe". I'm a huge Angel fan, but that show sucked beyond belief. I was looking at my watch begging for it to be over. We were so shocked about how bad it was, Karen started interviewing strangers on the way out.

Oh, man. I could have warned you about the Believe show. Everyone in LV knows it blows.

Here's my little slice of LV --- looking down on the Sahara

Did you happen to see what the 330 GTC went for at Barrett Jackson? I'm surprised to see one of those come up on a no reserve auction like BJ. Was it kinda rough? Just curious. Looks like you had one heck of a trip!

I cant imagine Angel will be able to ride it out over the next 9 years. I hope the Luxor will dump him soon.

Beautiful niche you got there. Love the view and bottom to ceiling window. And the bar. And the fact that it is so high up and and and...

We used to stay at the Sahara in the past as it is so economical and serves our purpose. Will probably do that again now that the Monorail is there and more fun places are going up on the North end.

Question for you Las Vegas insider:

What the hell was Trump thinking when he built his hotel there?
    1) It is off the strip and actually hard to get to on foot (no sidewalk)
    2) It has no casino (in Vegas!)
    3) It is so friggin outdate in style (compared to the very elegant Trump tower in Chicago)

Whom is he targetting? Super rich non gamblers who prefer not to be bothered by the crowds, gambling and the strip? Then why build the hotel there in the first place?

We were stunned and couldn't understand it. Not even his library of MBA worthy books helped. :)

Most of us hate that monstrosity called "Trump Towers". Only a man with his ego could put his name on something so awful. I think they did it fast because the LV market was red hot 4 years ago.

Aside from the Fashion Mall across from Wynn, it's probably the ugliest building of all time.

The reason there is no casino is that they tore down the Frontier Hotel/Casino that was next to it to build a new casino. It was one of the selling points -- one of many that never came to be.

I think this new casino/hotel was supposed to be based on the Plaza hotel in NYC. But, they ran out of money and now it's a vacant lot. I think they rent out the space to park construction vehicles now.

The same goes for it's next door neighbor, Eschelon Place. That would have been fantastic but they stopped it when business starting going sour 2 years ago. Too bad really because they destroyed the Stardust doing it -- a local favorite. The Fountainbleu (next to the Riviera) is half finished as the B of A pulled the financing. They've gone belly up and are looking for someone to buy it. Wynn already said no.

Who was Donald targeting? Idiots who thought LV real estate would never crash and believed the Donald could do no wrong. Seriously -- that was his target. I looked at the units and thought to myself, only an idiot would buy one. A lot of people put 30% down and couldn't close. A lot of money was lost on that building -- thanks to "the Donald" himself and belief that he would build a world class place. I heard a group of NBA players got together and bought an entire floor.

But, it's not all bad news. Hard Rock is doing well and just completed it's new wing. They're opening a place on the strip also by CitiCenter.

Still, if someone wanted to blow up Trump Towers, I don't think many in LV would complain.

    Thanks for the Trump story.

Another one that puzzled me: I was electrified when I saw the "Planet Hollywood" hotel and thought: Cool, an entire hotel with movie memorabilia. Yet once inside all I could find was a bike that belonged to Stallone for a movie coming out next year. I asked around and they said all the movie memorabilia is at the Planet Hollywood restaurant.

So why bother with a themed hotel if you don't actually follow your theme?

    Ugh.. another crazy story.

It was the old/new Aladdin hotel that went belly up. I can't imagine a worse theme for a hotel after 911 -- "yes, let's build a hotel based on Bagdad!" Any wonder why it folded? If you look closely, you can still see the Arabic style trim here and there.

The new owners put together a deal to license the name for Planet Hollywood but it's not really connected with them. So, there's not much memorbilia in it. The night club recently lost it's liquor license because too many hot young ladies were getting frisky in the VIP booths while the bouncers looked the other way (with there hands held out of course).

Darn cops! Don't they know this is sin city?

It's not a bad place though. It's just a bit of a hand me down. I have breakfast in the cafe there every once and a while. The Miracle Mile mall connected to it is pretty good too. I think that's what drives a lot of it's walk in business. It's tough to get into now because of the construction on Harmon ave because of CitiCenter.

I am your LV answer man!
