How do you like having the test pipe with this system? Does it smell? Does it pass smog tests?

My next big part purchase for the 328 is going to be this exhaust. I was thinking of going with a Hyperflow cat, but I'm curious about this exhaust with a test pipe.

You will have to rip my Ansa sport out of my cold dead hands first! Sure is purdy though

I actually have the Larini test pipe for this system in stock too. I didn't unwrap it, because it's really just a piece of pipe. Not much to look at.

But the mufflers? Ooo la la. They Aston Martin Vantage V8 one is also stunning -- but I was getting some crap from Mike for unwrapping too many of these and making a mess. I'll get pics later.

I don't have a bad exhaust smell at all with the pipe. I can't pass smog but I still have my old cat for that ;-) I think the Hyperflow would be just as good but it's also WAY more expensive. The car runs much cooler an sounds better...and has better throttle response with this set-up ;-)

    My best,

    Scott

    Gorgeous.

Unfortunately, invisible in a 328. It's kinda like rocket ship underpants. YOU know you have them on, but who else will know?

What does it -sound- like? Vids?

I disagree...to some extent. Every time I walk behind my 328 all I can notice is that fugly OEM exhaust hiding behind the grill. But, yeah, the other nice details are completely hidden.

If you're gonna sport a thong, ya better have a nice light back-end. The Larini 328/QV is 27.8 lbs, with about .25lbs of bubble wrap on it.

How do they compare sound-wise to the x-ost system you used to carry? Are they louder?

I'm not good at judging 'louder', but I would say the idle tone is equally smooth. The wide-open throttle as a wee bit more 'scream' than X-OST. All in all, I think they are quite comparable.
