    I get pleasant surprise indeed.

I buy this box of older mags off a really nice gentleman here in Toronto. In the box was a nice bunch of Forza's a couple of years old as well as a bunch of Prancing Horse mags and some ods and ends which is what he said he has. But the real surprise was a 1979 Cavalino mag!!! Man, it's like new and I didnt even know it would be included!

So anyway I am reading it like a kid in a candy store and right in the back of the mag I see an ad for a famailiar Toronto Ferrari dealer among other cool articles and such :D

Gotta love the 70's marketing. "Factory trained Italian mechanics!" Love it!

    Good stuff.

I love occasionally flipping through my old Cavallino's from the 80's. The pics and articles are swell, but the old ads give you a glimpse of who was what and where.

Nice find Mr V! That looks like Cavallino issue #7. Canada received the euro spec Boxer legally for a number of years while the USA had to make do with AMERIspec modified cars with funny looking bumpers. There were even some dealer trades. One red Boxer came from Charles Pozzi, the dealer in France.
Note the different address for YSM by then...

That's awesome Mr. C. SO they relocated more than once? How long were they in biz?

By the way I just looked at the inside cover. This is issue Volume II Number 1. Sept/Oct 1979!

YSM were called Gentry Lane at some point when they were on Eglinton in the very early 80's. It might have been as early as 1983 when they moved into the new building on Dupont Street still as Gentry Lane. John Graham was the 'Ferrari salesman' at the Dupont store around 1985 when the TR was the hot ticket. Some guy came it and stuffed 10 One thousand dollar bills in John's shirt pocket because he didn't want to wait on the list to buy a TR. John gave him his money back and said 'it doesn't work that way here'...

Did "factory trained Italian technicians" mean that they had pasta and wine for lunch every day ?

Speaking of 'after lunch' - Enzo Ferrari was not easily impressed. However he gained a new respect for Mario Andretti after he sat down for a big meal with him. Immediately after all that food Mario went out and effortlessly flogged the race car around the test track for all it was worth.
