I have a deposit on it... under 600 will be made, it is based on the 599xx and they are not saying anything even to customers with orders. Delivery is 2010, that is all I know

I have the same info, approx 60,000 over the standard car...I think it is a good bet, Ferrari would never use the GTO name for a tarted-up 599, so it has to be very special.
The 288 didn't do that well price-wise for almost 15 years, but it has skyrocketed recently...I just missed a car that sold for 450,000 EUR in less than a week and it needed a bit of work...

What a legendary feat to have all of the GTO's---ok, leave out the 250 and its a bit more realistic. :) No matter, if they make a 599 (or 600) GTO, I'm very interested--and like you, want to add a 288 to my garage, too.

So for under $1.3 million USD (not much more than a standard ENZO), you too could be the first in your neighborhood to own three generations of among the best 12 cyl Ferrari's ever made:

    288 GTO
    365 GTB/4
    599 GTO

(I'd probably throw in a 16M or soon-to-come 458 Italia Spider just for those warm Summer days.)

It's not priceless--but IMO, close to Nirvana.

Of course the point not being picked up on here is that the 599 GTO would be front engined - just like the original 250 GTO (288 was mid-engined of course)

Actually, the most important thing not yet discussed is the name: The "O" in the first two GTO's referred to homologation for racing. Is this car going to be homologated for FIA GT series competition? Or is this simply a Stradale/Scuderia version for track use?

    Curious.

If they make the 599 GTO or 600 GTO look anything like the 599XX, I think they will have a hit on their hands!! I just love the way the 599XX looks, all the lines of the original 599 has been given a more masculine touch.

Didn't you know . . . that twin turbo adds 4 cylinders, and that 7 speed dual clutch makes the 0-60 times much quicker.

I know its eight turbo charged, but was in a hurry and when "cutting/pasteing" wrote the punch line missing the "exception"...

No matter, its still a perfect grouping for a nice, tight, small collection :)

I'm trying to confirmation from my dealer now...say they haven't a clue (of course) but that it'll take $20k for a deposit. I've asked for confirmation position on the list--don't want to be 3 or 4th given how few would actually be deliverd...I'm a buyer if its available based on what I've seen/heard and the pricing thoughts/rumors so far.

I agree with many--its seems a perfect car for me...always liked the classic Ferrari big 12s but they've been a little lacking in sportiness. This mix would be spot on.

I think this is a rumor mill. Sorry, it's just my opinion that we will not be seeing a 599GTO.

I think sales are going well and Ferrari doesn't need to use the revered name so shamelessly. There is the "O" there after all and I haven't heard of plans to take it racing.

    I'll bet anyone a beer.

There will be another GTO some day. Just not now.

probably the car will not named gto, but it's a "scuderia" version of standard 599.
my dealer said me in italy they can have maximum 5 car (x dealer), i'm in the 3th position in the list, i hope to have the car in outumn 2010.
if the new car is 100-150 kg less and with 60-80 cv more than a standard 599 with some aerodinamic improvement and more aggressive looking this is the car of my dream
