Does anyone make a GT style wing and splitter for the 430C, comparable to those available for the 360C? Thanks.

Robert - yes, I heard Phil just got one, too. Mine arrives in a week or two. Got rid of the Scuderia, which I just never used.

Dale - By combining a small budget, little driving talent and inferior equipment, I plan to shame Risi out of the sport entirely. They'll never see me coming. Actually, next year I'm going to focus on SCCA's DSR class.

PS - think I found a source for the parts.

Would you mind sharing what you've found on these parts? I'd love to know what's out there and where to get it.

    Thanks,

Mark, someone has suggested Stealth Composites in Pennsylvania as a source, but I haven't verified that. I'll update you if I find anything, please let me know if you find anything interesting. Will

Thanks very much. Do keep us posted.
I'll let you know what I come up with too. I'm planning to leave both of mine stock until the end of the year, but then I really want to GT-ize one of them with steel brakes, aero, bigger front tires, weight loss etc.....

The word from Risi is that the real 430GT front airdam/splitter and rear diffuser will be far from a 'bolton'.
The radiators are different, and the GT car has a completely different carbon floor with unique attachment and transitions.

Will, Hopefully your guy will have some 'GT-style' pieces that can be more easily adapted.

Keep us posted with what you find.

    Thanks,

    Mark

GT2 cars have much wider front track so the front fenders, bumper, splitter, radiators and brackets are completely different. I converted the front of my 430 Challenge with Michelotto GT2 parts, and it definitely is not a simple bolt on job.

Prior to my partial GT2 conversion I bought a standard width 430 front GT bumper from my local supplier and fitted a 360C splitter to it.

And a 360C rear wing can be fitted to 430C with new brackets.

Don't know of any US parts source.

    Will,

I think I've dealt with the Stealth guys previously on one of the cars. Did they do the bodies for the ALMS Corvette (Pratt & Miller), perhaps? If so, we had a run of rear bonnets done. Good quality and reasonable price.

Email me if you'd like to chat...

    They are great guys.

Their kit is very cost effective as you keep your original challenge bumper, the rear wing has a simple chord and the dampers are merely revalved.

Of course further upgrades with their contractive dampers, etc. are possible. However, like for like the current set up shaved 6 seconds off silverstone (3.2m, 2m 05s times).

    Great Stuff!

This is just what I was searching for. Thanks for taking the time to post. I will contact them.

Did you do their 'steel brake' conversion? Do you know how they adapt the ABS and the computerized disc wear monitoring?

Do you change the spring rates to acccount for the downforce? Actually you might have wanted to deviate from the 2 limited Challenge spec springs anyway.

Any more details you can give would be terrific. Very cool to hear how much faster it made your car!

    Thanks again,
    Mark

    Sorry for not reverting.

Steel brake kit - not sure what they did re wear monitoring, you'd have to ask them.

Re spring rates, they have revalved my dampers. The full GT Cup cars have adjustable contractive dampers that do away with the anti-roll bars and allows greater cornering speed. They took settings from those and gave me the best approximation. I haven't started racing so it wasn't worth looking for the last 2 tenths per lap.

Overall, for Silverstone, lap times in the region of 120 seconds, I reduced lap time by 6 seconds. It took some fine tuning since their splitter has a centre section removed to create a wing effect and reduce understeer, but after tweaking of front ride height and rake, the lap times tumbled.
