Oh wow... this is not far at all from me.
Wonder how much it would cost to make this a runner?

I think a budget of $100k would be a reasonable start. If you want quality work, that is.

    About $75k.

First rule of car restoration: it's always cheaper to buy someone else's restoration.

On the other hand, the reason for doing it is that you can have it done the way you want-- much the same as buying new.

Depends on how much of the work you can do yourself I would think.

    Cheers!

I think the key is to figure out what has been done, how well was it done and what does it still need. If the engine was done as described (which I doubt) and the body was done well, then it may be a reasonable project.

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. Michael, can you post a link for the interior?

Really love the tuck-and-roll headliners in these cars. Takes me back . . .

Speaking from experience, this would be a poor choice for anyone inexperienced in restoration, considerably more challenging than an Alfa or Jaguar. I don't think this car could be adequately completed by a professional shop in the US for less than $150k.

Nice colors, though. 330 GTs in bright red or fly yellow are really alarming.

Bad candidate. The shiny paint says Take me home. It will be fun.

Everything else says... Spend money here.. and here... and here... etc.

Buying a better example is a much better way to go IMO.

Thank you Michael for trying to get this car a new interior and owner. It will take some doing for sure.

I was advised today by Bruce Trennery who has inspected this vehicle, that the original numbers matching engine is NOT installed in the car!

A non numbers matching car is for sale here!!

    FYI

On a 4-headlight 330, how much difference does a non-matching numbers engine really make?

    Don,

None if its a parts car. A bit if if you restore it.

    Tom,

Do you know where the original one went? :D

These "cheep" entry level 12 cyl front engine 2+2 Ferrari's cost about the same as a $1,000,000 Ferrari to restore if you are going to a high quality nut and bolt restoration. All Ferrari's, especially the "cheep" Ferrari's are always better bought fully sorted and restored versus buying a car that needs every thing. Look at my friends 1965 330 GT 2+2 series 2 (two head lights) car that was just auctioned by RM Auctions Lot # 365 for $55,000. A super clean well sorted driver level red over black car. The yellow and this blue cars on Ebay even if donated to the next owner, will quickly make the next owner upside down on the car's value after the required work gets done.

    Geno.

Anyone know how much she went for??? I had on my watch list but the final bid does not show up? Rather odd. They lost me at 28K The last I saw was 29.5K.

    Cheers!

I think the seller canceled all bids and ended the auction.
