I posted this over in the Mississippi section, but wanted to make sure the Louisiana guys saw it too: I wanted to give everyone a heads up about what looks to be a VERY, VERY nice show near Jackson, MS. It is for vintage (pre 1985) European vehicles, and I would love to see a strong showing of Ferraris! I have heard through the grapevine that they will also consider newer cars if they are of "special interest", so I would imagine you may could enter a newer Ferrari. I know Ferrari of Atlanta is bringing a few cars, and I presume a few will be new models. The show is at the Renaissance shopping center, which is a newer upscale development. They seem intent on making this a very nice, high end show. Entry is FREE, and includes: Free to the Public and Exhibitors of Classic Autos and Motorcycles Free Select Sponsor-Exhibitor Reception for Participants and Their Guest Friday Night, October 23rd First 25 Vehicles to Enter Will Receive Porcelain Grill Badge Class Awards to Be Of Fine Glassware Free Saturday Buffet For Participants and Their Guest Special Hotel Rates at Hyatt Place on the Grounds Highly Secured Parking of Show Area Special Fine Dining Rates at Any of Four Restaurants on the Grounds Reception for Participants and Their Guest Friday Night, October 23rd (NOTE - catered by Ruth's Chris!) Actually I think there was some sort of disclaimer about LSU fans being not being allowed anyway. Remember, they are trying to make this a classy event! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
In that case I will make sure I never attend and spread the word throughout Louisiana not to attend any event in Mississippi.
Oh hey, didn't you see the little winking smiley face in my post? Don't take offense, it was said in jest. What good is a thread in the fall without some good-natured college football ribbing?
nathan, dont sweat frank, he carries a big chip on his shoulder about his beloved corndogs. but damn, that was funny as hell!! wish i could make it but of all things, i have to work!? hopefully it'll be a great turnout, and frank, geaux war eagle!!
I'm not the one in the Mississippi section slaming the University of Mississippi that has fallen on such hard times that it feels the need to defraud the public into interest free loans by "selling" tickets they have no intention of ever delivering.
Sorry to hear you have to work Todd....how did that happen?? I thought you guys had rules and laws against working on weekends? Frank seems like a nice guy, I am sure he was not the one who threw that beer bottle at me last time I was at a game in BR. I went to Louisiana Tech, so it is definitely NOT a Mississippi vs. Louisiana thing for me. I love both states!
its my first weekend ive worked since my 2nd year in dental school, and that was as a waiter at amerigo. we are trying to get a contract with camp shelby, and this was the only weekend they could get the troops in, so its a no brainer.
I'm toying with the idea of joining in. Probably just a day trip as I have so much to do at home. I'd take 61 to Natchez, then the Trace toward Jackson. I'm looking forward to that drive as much as anything. Haven't been on any of the Trace yet.
Dirk, I wouldn't recommend going, especially since you live in Baton Rouge. You are sure to be most unwelcome in the Great State of Mississippi. They wouldn't want you stinking up their pristine state with the LSU stench on you.
When I get there I'll be sure to protect my car so it doesn't get vandalized. I've got this great new LSU car cover.
That is a very pretty drive, you will enjoy it. Just be careful with your speed, the Trace rangers LOVE to give tickets for 5-6 mph over the limit, especially to red Italian sports cars (or any other color for that matter).
The Jackson area is already heavily populated with LSU fans, so y'all will fit right in. The funny thing is, most of them have never even set foot in Baton Rouge. I swear the sporting goods stores here have more LSU stuff than Ole Miss, USM, or State.
Better get a law passed in Mississippi outlawing sporting goods stores, they must only draw a unsavory crowd.

I do, it is a hostile work enviroment. Actually everybody in the office is from someplace else and hates Mississippi.
It appears our neighbors in Alabama have learned how to keep them out by setting clever traps: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Let me help you and Todd find your way home and out of the Louisiana section also if you look closely at the board you will find a sports section, go do your trash talking in there http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20 And here is a link to tide you over until you find your way home to Mississippi http://www.drbukk.com/gmhom/park.html
