Now this is NOT an invitation to PP to startup, and I have no gripe with Phil, BUT I did nearly fall over laughing this morning when I saw a white Porsche with "FF" on the plates go by right outside Euromarque! Just seemed so weird...

About 20 years ago I was overtaken by a Triumph Stag with the number plate ILUV69. It was driven by a very nice looking young lady and, at the time, I could only surmise that she was a working girl.
Police abandon motorcycle speed camera plan http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26074445-421,00.html
The number plate 'A' on a late model VW Golf that looked pretty beaten up and driven by a woman on green P plates.
Don't you just love it how they mention "States are forgoing an estimated $2 million a year each in revenue from fines as motorcycles evade detection". I thought the cameras were for safety. Not one mention of road saftey at all in that artical other than on the number plates itself.
Great, now they just need to allow bikes to lane split...... which i got pinged for last week on the Motorway. I had only been on that road for 600m, but i wasn't exactly an angel during that 600m..... $141 and 2 points. Bugger!
It's only relatively recently that was made an actual specific law/offence wasn't it? I think splitting at speed is silly along with excessive weaving.. but at the lights who is really affected adversely? Many years ago on the commute over Gladesville bridge into city the lanes narrowed visibly and working the wide mirrors & fairing of the BM between (stationary) car mirrors either side was made harder closer got to Balmain & city, talk about becoming a sub-mm judgement expert to make it clean no-taps run lol.
What are the rules about lane splitting now? I still do it all the time when traffic is stationary, but I'm a little nervous doing it at speed (but sometimes do)
When stationary no drama, only careful if near busy CBD intersection if multitudes pedestrians filtering through every gap for several car lengths back from lights while you make your way forward. It shouldn't be fined coz its usually walking pace and near zero risk & great for overall flow & progress, but I've read reports of fining lately so they must have passed law for it in NSW at least. Don't know if they do for cyclists too? They have tough life living in gap between parked cars & moving traffic and ever present possibility of door being opened on them and nowhere to go.
