http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2009/10/22/loeb-s-f1-debut-blocked-by-fia/ I would love to see Loeb in F1. He is very impressive to watch in WRC and based on his previous F1 tests I think he could be very fast indeed.
How do the FIA even judge that anymore? Kimi Raikkonen didn't meet their requirements, and in my opinion Loeb has more experience coming in.
Proof that the testing ban is stupid. How can a person get time in a modern F-1 car without testing it??? A driving in F3 can get a super license but a top ranked rally car driver cant??? WTF
++ 1000000000......... As for Seb, it would have been very interesting seeing how he got on in race conditions. I can imagine his engineer on the radio: "Seb, you've gotta stop using the grass and gravel trap for overtaking, you're gonna get a penalty!" SEb: "For sure, but for me it is the quickest way!"
The testing ban did save the teams some considerable money, but it has made it very difficult for any new drivers to join in. If they want to maintain the ban, going forward an additional practice hour on Friday with no restrictions on the car (like you blow an engine, no problem) could help the newbies.
