I was given a scarf by a client. He said it was given to his uncle by Enzo Ferrari between 1955 - 1956. It has the Ferrari markings. It came with a letter stating how this came to be. I checked the history of the story and it checks out. I showed it to my mechanic and he was very impressed and thought it was worth alot. Any body have any idea what this might be worth. I can take a picture and post it if any one wants.

Just FYI - The scarf is showing the "underside" in every picture. The "horsie" is supposed to look to your left, with the S on your Left and the F on your right.

For Kevin's information there is a vast source of collectors besides
just "Collectors Studio" in our 'FerrariChat.com community that might
be able to help. What fabric is the scarf? How are the badges put on?
As a museum student how much can you identify without seeing it?

my apologies; Morry at Collectors is my main reference point for original hard to find Ferrari items (plus his studio is 1.5 hours from me)
I would love to see other sites such as yours though...

You are right about it upside down. That was the way it was folded in the package and I didn't pay close enough attention when I took the picture. Here is a pic showing both sides. Horse is correct on the top side. Looks like the shields are part of the scarf and not applied in any way. Material feels like silk but I'm not sure.

There is no real 'market' value for something like this, it's simply a matter of what someone will pay. If the documentation on the scarf is impeccable, then it may be worth $500++ 'to the right guy'. It would be hard to find an image of Enzo with this exact scarf, but if you could find it, this would substantiate the story.

As many of you who have been to my gallery or surfed my site know, I have several of Enzo's suits - pants, ties, jacket, shoes, all with not only a letter from the man who received them directly, but with notes from the Modenese tailor that made them (who authenticated them) as well as photos of each item being worn. That is something no museum has that I know of....private or otherwise.

I had no thought as of yet on selling this scarf unless somebody asked to buy it. I can't say I have the documentation from the person that made it or a picture of Enzo giving this to the man that got it in Italy in 1956. I do have a letter from the man that gave it to me with the history behind it. That does check out. For me it is just another interesting Ferrari item in my collection.

An inquiry here found that those items were sold in Truck Stops across Italy, for Race Day....

Still, I was glad to have them from someone that ran across them in a Garage Sale, you can see the holes in the flag sleeve where it was hurriedly slit to go onto a pole of some sort...

The better to wave, I'm sure!!!

It's hard to tell from your photos--are the Ferrari shields embroidered, sewn on or heat transfers? If so, were heat transfers used in the 50s?
