Just want to publicly give Manolis a HUGE thanks for putting on the event of the year as far as I'm concerned. I'll recap the day from my perspective. My friends and I left my house in 4 cars and met about 4-5 more cars in Warwick at around 9 am. We waited around 10 mins, and a much larger group from Mass came. I'm not sure how big our impromptu group was (20-25?), but we had some sick hardware there. A bunch of 911's, a bunch of lotuses, a ford gt, a pantera, a scuderia, other ferrari's, vipers, lambo etc...We hung out there for a short time, maybe 5-10 mins then got on the road. We had a decent caravan down. I won't say how fast some people went, but it was a FUN run down. No tickets too, and weird that this event, just like last time, we passed a cop that had pulled over a Honda as we drove by. We all made it to foxwoods without issues and made our way to the Grand Cedar garage. Foxwoods, cleared the whole upper deck. There were a few cars that were parked there that weren't supposed to be there and they towed them! We all registered and filled the lot with lots of sick cars. Too many cars to name, but they included an SLR, an F40, herb chambers 275 (GTB i think?), a Scuderia, Calloway, Lambos, Vipers, Porsches, Loti, maserati's, an Aston. I think every major marque was represented. Everybody got a good chance to check out all the cars and enjoy the perfect weather and watch as more and sicker cars kept rolling in. It was a very eclectic group of people and cars. After a short drivers meeting by Manolis, we all headed to lunch at the Hard Rock cafe, which happened right on time. The food and service at the Hard Rock was great. We got over a hundred people in and out on time, and we all had a nice meal. We all headed back to the cars, and it was kind of crazy cuz lots of Foxwoods people had come down to check out the car show. There was also a bunch of fashion models and photographers around who had been shooting pics while we were eating lunch. There was even a guy in a giant Transformers outfit on. He musta been ten feet tall. There was a few minutes spent mingling and lots of photos and video taken. Then we got organized for the rally. The cars were already pre-organized in groups which made it easy, and the rally got underway. A helicopter even came and was there to shoot video, and the cars were off. The rally itself was very well organized and although I was in a group that got lost, we still found our way and caught up. The route was perfect, and the pace was relaxed. A nice scenic ride of about an hr of twisty backroads. We all got back to foxwoods, and filled the upper deck. Again, it was like a crazy car show. Lots of sick cars and lots of people admiring the rides. Soon after people made their way to Shrine, the nightclub. At the nightclub was the bar of course, and food was available. At around 6ish, there was a fashion show which went great. After that, the majority of people left, we hung around, drank and ate more, and finally made our way home, happy and tired. ANYWAYS, the event was a HUGE success. I can imagine the planning must have taken a LOT of people many many hours. And I just again want to thank Manolis, and all the people that were instrumental in organizing the event, (you guys are just too numerous to name, but you know who you are!). I am sure thousands of pics and vid will be up in the next few days. For those of you that missed it. Don't worry, I am sure this is just the beginning, and next year will be even better!
Agreed 100%, GREAT event today! Many thanks to Manolis, Lane, Dave, Ed and all the others who worked hard to pull this off (and who can forget Mother Nature who made it all possible!) Lots of great pics to come Image Unavailable, Please Login
+1 to everyone involved. My wife got drafted into checking everyone in and even though it got a little crazy, she said it was fun because it gave her a chance to meet everyone. Here's the first group of pictures I found that were posted on lotustalk: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43964112@N07/page1/ http://s174.photobucket.com/albums/w116/cegan09/supercar%20roadtrips%20foxwoods/
Yes, another hugh thanks to Manolis and all else who helped organize this great event, my girlfriend and I had a blast, and were happy to have been a part of it !! Hopefully this will be an annual event, and be even bigger next year.
Yeah, you CT guys did an awesome job! the route you guys picked was great, and i heard lots of positive feedback from the rally participants. i didnt get to meet the leader of my group, but he was really good. it was a dark 348ts. i was in the yellow z06 behind you. whoever you are, the pace was good, and you kept us all together well.
That was an awesome experience. I was in your group I think 2 cars back from you in the red viper. Those roads were killer and despite getting lost it was an awesome time.
That would be me I think, glad you had fun. My navigator had a lot to do with the pace and keeping the group tight as well, she was great. Got off track a little bit, but we did manage to bring everyone back to Foxwoods. It was a great rally and cruise; I hope we do it again next year. I would like to thank Manolis, Lane, Dave, Ed also as they put on a very good show. Thanks, Mike
Thanks for the links, having never seen a Callaway LM in person before the pics made me wish I went. Glad it all worked out for everyone involved, not too many days like this left but it looks as if this one was well spent.
Special thanks to all of the organizers and workers. It was a great event on a great day, and for a great cause. And kudos to the Foxwoods and MGM folks who treated us so well. Everyone I met was appreciative of us bringing our cars to display, and I even got stopped in the casino by someone asking, where are all these great cars on display!! The number of cars participating was pretty impressive, and if we do it again next year I'll bet it will be even better.

Thanks to everyone who made this such a great event - Manolis, Lane, Bobby, Andrew, George, Fabiana, Aurora, Benny, and all the other folks who worked tirelessly to make this event happen. Additional kudos to Kay and Ivanka for handling the check-in duties. And yes, they were pressed into service at the last hour but handled the situation graciously. Also thanks to Dan and the rest of the Foxwoods security detail for a job well done. These guys were on site when I arrived at 7:30 am and were still on the job when I left at 6:30 pm. Great job. Very special thanks go to David who not only arranged for the photo models but was also kind enough to provide a model to be my copilot. Wonderful weather for top down motoring and Colby was the perfect choice for a travelling companion. She's a lovely young woman and we quickly discovered that we have a mutual passion for horses. We spent the entire rally talking horses. Nice job David. And when the official rally was over we took the 355 out on an impromptu run, however, this time Colby was at the controls. She did a great job. Nice gear changes, smooth through the twisty sections of road and easy on the brakes. I don't know how she did it with those high heeled shoes on. Now she can brag to her boyfriend that she drove a Ferrari before he did and her smile made my day complete. Thanks to everyone !!! - Ed -
Here are some pictures I got of you, your car and your passenger: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Mikety, At this point I was the passenger and it was HER car. Thanks for posting the photos. I took a couple of shots for Colby with the car as well. I promised that I would email her some photos. I'll include these. And guys - before you even ask - the answer is no! I will not pm her email address to you. I know it will make her day to have these photos. Thanks again for posting. - Ed -
Brilliant!! what a great idea to have the models join the rally how perfect that Colby can handle the Ferrari clutch!
Ed I remember seeing a few other photographers taking shots at the same time Mike was. If I locate them I wil send them over. Mike and Sean were amazing taking pictures for me of the girls with all of your cars. I know there are also some group ones with Tessa once I find them I will send them your way as well. Also have a special one I will get to you. and no need to thank me. The girls and the photographers did all the work.
