It does make sense for someone who is a Jarama specialist, or a collector who wants the best restored car available and does not mind the price. This is on account, of the hard to find factory removable roof panels. The removable roof panels, will add dubious value, to the price of a restored car.

With other potential buyers, it makes much more sense to pick up Roy's car, or a car that is quite similar to the recently sold argento/rosso car.

    Peter,

You are looking at thousands of hours of work.

An Islero (or what's left of one) in a rather dank cave.

$14K was a princely sum for that.

Impossible to estimate the condition or even get close on restoration costs by looking at Ebay. You won't know how big or expensive the project is until well after you are neck deep in it.

I will guarantee that there are surprises waiting there, there always are (what part of "the car Is not running at this time", don't you understand) and they're not gonna be cheap.

"maybe a 1/3 of the work or more...." isn't going to save you as much money as you think. You will most likely just be doing the relatively low-value parts of the job. It will take you longer to complete each task so it will look like you did a lot of the work yourself. You will get some "bragging rights" for participating but probably not much of a discount.

A safe estimate, especially if you help. ;)

Easy to estimate, consider the full restoration price and you won't be disapointed to save money while progressing !!!!

Yes it is an Islero and now I've identified it #6306...
last year and this year I saw 5 cars, completed (around 65.000 euro up to 115.000 euro)and one rusted & dismantled (above picture) offered by a Lambo specialist...at 35.000 euro or 50.000 US$...

I know I made a good bargain because it is already costing me 30.000 Euro for a full shelf & body repair on my #6009. So made yourself computation...I'm winning the deal as I'm not afraid of such poor shape, only the "base" matters... as I will never do it on an Espada !

i like this car for its rare cool roof, i know to some it does not make much difference but to me it is a very interesting feature

    Ralph,
i'd like to get a darck colored jarama (black or blue :) i love them)

this said i do not see many euro guys payng 80k euro today even for a great jarama
is a good islero worth 80-90k?
sure, even some more, but the jarama with its peculiar design is not for anyone

in the same way as great countachs 5000S do not sell for 150k euro....or an LP400 for 300k euro

asking are still hi but few cars sell today and usually it is needed to reduce the asking to sell

p.s. when the economy would pick up again i won't be so surprised to see 80k euro jaramas, 200K euro serie uno LP400S or 400k LP400

Waouww... it didn't sold on Ebay even at 13.000 US$ and some gram due to a high reserve price not met...so it's still not worth 10.000 Euro and it is less expensive compared to Harald's one for sale in Germany for 17.000 € without engine & gearbox or the red one in Italy...

Emilio, this #10324 was Nero/black at first, but Oro/gold...no black color was produced for this limited production and only 3x dark blue and 4x thaiti blue did.

Just to confirm to everybody : 20 sunroof/tetto apribile were produced from chassis #10310 up to #10438. Exception of 2 cars, all of them were sold in USA.

It also means that #10324 will be back on Ebay...

The exchange rate is approximately 8800 Euros and the reserve was not met.

I think that is a lot of the problem. In the U.S., a person can often purchase an excellent (ready-to-go) Islero for less money, than the total cost to restore this Jarama project car.

An Islero driver, was just sold on the bay, for 47.7K

Roy's Jarama, is a better value than the Jarama project car.

I'm glad to see that the madness stopped at $13K. Too bad for the seller but it simply isn't worth more in it's present condition.

Yes it came. I have no pictures as it went direct into the shop for:

    New Battery
    All fluyids and filters change
    brakes bleed and new fluids
    tranny fluids
    new plugs and plug wires
    new rotor and cap
    carb tuned adjusted and cleaned
    cold choke adjusted
    a few light bulbs out
    new wipers
    full 10 point detail

Should be done this week, I am told by the mech that it runs as a screaming ape..very impressed with it. He also works on the GTS here in Seattle that has the sun roof in it from the factory owned by Jan that used to work for Lamborghini years ago. He cosntantly is saying how beautiful condition mine is in and urges me NOT to sell it...keep it with the others in my collection...but I cant keep them all...or can I? LOL LOL

Funny, I have the CASSETT manual as well with the car...have not read it yet.

I guess I will have my passanger lean offer and adjust it, as she is adjusting me at the same time!!
