Bertone built the LP500 for Lamborghini, and if you search you'll see similar wheels on other Bertone cars. One thing I have learned about the Italian sports car industry of that era, they never made just one set of anything! On the other hand, anything is possible.

I love how he says "its just not as developed as it could be". He obviously doesn't realize that Lamborghini left that to Countach owners to do!

One other observation of the 1120001 was that when it was red and without the driving lamps in the front bumper, it had no circular Carello turn-signals in the front fenders, yet.

George Evans' is a one owner S1. Talking about same car?

BTW, His car has a full width rear red plexiglass "lens" connecting the tail lights together. He says the factory did this per his request as seen on another car. Does anyone have a photo of such a setup?

As far as I've seen this is the standard LP400 and early S muffler, the thing is that most of the owners installed an Ansa from the beginning or later in it's life.

Same car used in this dealer's new car Ad from the period... not string on left-side steering wheel spoke that holds lead export duty seal.

Also, some euro cars got the ANSA from the factory or as an option? 1120002 has what looks like an ANSA setup in early photos...? (not clear here, but with the real life pic you can see tubes, not a box?)

Is there any literary reference to either style?

Looks like this novice to forum is all wet.

Photos taken in Downers Cottages, Clapham Common, just before London Motor Show, Nov 1974. Trio of cars featured in later CAR 'Convoy' feature ( scan available, if there is interest ).

Compliments to Joe and Raymond for their amazing knowledge.

Many LP400 came with the Ansa sport (tube muffler) exhaust fitted by the works, and it appears to me this is roughly a 70% to 30% thing, in favor of the open system.

    Thank you Peter!

I see a RHD LP400, most definitely a standard production car. The LP400 could possibly be 1120026, the reported first RHD LP400, a 1974 production car, originally delivered in Arancio (color changes in later life to red, then yellow currently).

String-tied lead duty seal seen again on the steering-wheel spokes of another new LP400. Miuras had them tied around the steering column...

Here is photo I took myself sometime in 1982. My friend and I had imported new BB512's and for good measure he bought this LP400S. He still owns it. Smart guy !
