The pix attached are from that "tutorial" - Anyone know what he uses to get the CF effect shown? - Anyone read Japanese?..... TIA, Ian Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ive tried this and find it very hard to make it look consistent, so its not a method for me. Some people get very good results with it though and if you can crack it im sure its a lot cheaper than decals The 312P is coming along nicely
Sorry, I wasn't clear - He shows how he does it a little earlier in the vid (~8:30) and you are indeed correct - He tapes the parts under some fine mesh. But, it then looks like he puts black into the A/B, but the finished part looks like it's been sprayed with some kind of grey - I was hoping the "subtitle" I captured above had the details of that paint color..... BTW, I haven't watched part 2 yet, but he certainly has an interesting build sequence in part 1..... Cheers, Ian
Check out this Mclaren 1/20th scale build. Great work!! http://forum.depaddock.eu/showthread.php?t=18233 Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo -Strictly 43rd Revival model/photo contest-Chicago April 2010
I can't speak or read what they were writing, but I'm positive I know what most of them said. That thing is unbelievable.
The Mclaren is awesome :0 Usually I only built competition cars, but this Piranha kits are fantastic. This is the Ferrari 342 America 1953 from King Leopold Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks great. I saw the almost identical 340 America last year up at the Milwaukee Masterpiece concours. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo-Strictly 43rd Revival 2010 model/photo contest-Chicago April 2010 Image Unavailable, Please Login

I told myself I'd never buy another Revell model but I gave in and got a F430 yesterday. I plan on building it after my F2001. I wanted to try doing matte black w/ gold rims and didn't want to spend too much if it turned out bad.

Here are a few shots of my F430 I'm trying to do in matte black. Turned out ok so far. It's on the backburner until I finish my F2001. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just used Tamiya flat black. It has a little more texture than I'd like but it looks ok. I think I'll try a wetter coat to see if it smooths out.
Finished polishing the Scuderia and have also done the panel lines... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
