Has anyone found a nice rear license plate frame for their 308/328 that says 'Ferrari' and/or has the prancing horse logo? The license plate space is only 6" tall, which is exactly the height of a US plate. A frame needs to be very tight around the plate, or sit on top of the plate. Those that I've found are 6 1/2" tall, and won't fit.

    Any good suggestions?

    Thanks!

I've been in Mike's car and I can attest that the original license plate frame DOES make the car faster!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably depends on the car. My plate frame has the four studs at the extreme corners of the plate frame - no screws or visible screw heads - it accepts nuts on the inside of the car. There are no other holes in the panel, to indicate a US version plate mount, except the ones that mate with the plate frame I just described. Depending on the dimensions of the plate issued by NY DMV I actually have to snip the corner of some plates to get it to fit correctly.

I bought it at Ferrari of Atlanta, right after I'd gotten dinged for it at my first real concours. But that was almost 20 years ago now!

I use a small black plate frame VERY similar to that...from the AutoZone!

Except for the one car with a Ron Tonkin dealer plate frame, it's very nice so I leave it on, it obviously came 'with it" in 1977.....

The plate frame Mike has is or was available through Ferrari Maserati dealers at least as of a few years ago. I also bought mine after getting dinged at a concours event several years ago. I think they get around $40.

    Best regards,
    Dino

I'll always remember the chrome license plate frame on my old e-type jag when I bought it back in the 80s - said "Bob's the Name, Sport F&#*ing's The Game" I mean, who drives around with something like that on the back of their car?

If you cannot get exactly what you want, a simple chrome frame looks really good.

I have always felt a nice car (such as a Ferrari) doesn't need a license frame that has any "words" on it.

    Just a nice chrome frame.

I'm guessing Bob does. Or at least he did. Mustn't have worked out too well for him since he let it go with the car.....

I have a few of these left from old FAF dealer in Atlanta. Good for the 80's models since that's when these were made. $10 if interested (plus shipping).
