Interesting view, but how would the buyer get into trouble if the PI closed shop and disappeared? As the buyer you aren't liable for the under-declared OMV (if indeed it was under-declared ; in fact my understanding is you can claim a higher OMV later), and since the hypothetical buyer already saved massively on the original price-tag...
You guys can call me also for C69 reviews Havent sat in a C63 yet because the owners tend to switch off their house lights whenever I am near. But from a pedestrian point of view.. C63 is refined classy kind of fast, more established refined image. M3 seems so bengish newly graduated banker kind of fast and furious, more suited for young punks. Sure the M3 handling would be better than a C63, but why bother with that when you already have a Ferrari/Porsche??
Interesting. It has been documented that several PI & even big giants have been heavily fined/jailed over the years for profiteering off under-declared OMVs. But should they close shop, IRAS might not be able to go after them as a PL but individual? Will they come after owners? Never heard of this but did hear that owners benefitted by having their OMV credited later & that's only possible if the seller exists & paid up!
took me so long to scroll and read through the pages. congrats jon on getting the 456. it's damn rare here, and all along i have been trying to see one on the roads.
if were to choose between the c63 or m3, i would go for the m3, because it comes in manual and the c63 doesn't. correct me if i am wrong. i mean if you want all the fun and be totally engage in driving the car, nothing beats manual transmission. but then again, i would go for c63 for the aggressive looks. here's a comparison of stats between both cars, threw in the rs6 sedan if u guys got 100k+ more to spare. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_compare.php?Compare=1&SpecCode1=1155&SpecCode2=1194&SpecCode3=1543&SpecCode4=0&SpecCode5=0&SpecCode6=0&SpecCode7=0&SpecCode8=0
it is indeed very fast. and in case you guys didn't know, there's actually one in singapore, like few years back. it's a yellow one. i try to find some pics and post them up. testimonial taken from the website: "Thanks very much for producing this outstanding kit! Bernard and I have now finally finished our Ultima GTR in Singapore. In fact it's the first Ultima in Singapore and the second one in Asia after Grant's GTR in Hong Kong. We couldn't possibly be happier with the completed product. The GTR has been creating quite a stir down here and we have received a couple of informal inquiries from interested petrolhead friends. Of course there is no way that we're selling our car. But we're thinking of building a second or third GTR since we had so much fun the first time round. Willy Ballmann Ultima GTR"
Just out of curiousity, how many of you guys are die hard manual fans who'd pick a manual transmission over paddles or auto? I personally much prefer paddles, using a manual as a daily driver in Australia has become quite abit of a pain.
I'm not very familiar with Audis, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the A4 or RS4 or whatever they call it closer to the C class and 3 series?
the old RS4 had faded out. for the current gen of A4, there's only the S4. the new RS4 isn't here yet i think.
here u go, a 2008 article about these two guys who bought the ultima body and built it right here in singapore. it's called the Ultima S. http://www.asiaone.com/Motoring/Owners/Story/A1Story20081111-99679.html
nope, on long leave since last friday till next wednesday. doing some important shoots over these weekend and next week, probably no time to update my webpage. but can go ahead with it, thanks.
C63. It looks good as a sedan unlike the M3 which looks better as a coupe. The 6.2 V8 is just sweeeet. Yeah it's insanely fast but ugly as hell. I think it is sold in kit car form as well. There were reports of them currently working on a 1600bhp version to claim the world record from the SSC.
I second that! Can't wait to see the first Verde Ithaca 560 on the roads. There's one in Jurong called KartWorld. Not sure how good it is though, haven't tried it out yet. Here's their website: http://www.kartworld.com.sg/ IIRC, one more just opened recently but I can't recall the name.
I would take paddles/auto for daily driver and manual only when I feel like having some fun. Manual as daily driver can really get on your nerves sometimes. Yup the RS4 is indeed the closest competitor to the C63 and M3 but Audi's RS facility only builds one RS model at a time. The previous RS4 just ended its lifespan so now it's the RS6's turn. The new RS4 will come when production of the RS6 ends.
Wow only 5 pages in the last 2 days. The addiction seems to be getting less serious. Keep it up guys!
I prefer a paddle shift coz I am lazy... but every now and then I like using a manual.. I really enjoyed my 355 days.
