That would open a massive can of worms - how would the owner, a layperson, have any idea how much a used import should cost the dealer? Unless LTA publishes a set of guidelines... till then, for the buyer, ignorance is bliss

i love the f1 paddle transmission on the 430 - not really an auto car though, more like a clutchless manual if you know what i mean. can't really get engaged in a car unless you are doing the gear changes yourself so a pure autobox doesn't cut it for me.

like jon, i am driving around in a manual v12 and it's intoxicating. don't have the 3 hour jams here which might make me feel otherwise. prior to the dbs, my last two manuals were the gt3 and the 355, two other pretty special cars.

having said all that, when you engage the sport mode in the rs6, apart from holding the gears when you upshift (like most autos do in sports mode), it also blips the revs when you downshift - an automated "heel and toe" if you will.

summary: f1 transmission great - manual transmission great - conventional autobox weak but rs6 autobox not bad.

 

not really ... generally the rule of law says "caveat emptor" --- let the buyer beware

besides ... if it looks too good to be true, it prob is ...

Went straight to IA upon arrival back in Sgp & had the problems looked at. Not all good news

was also a tad amused ... & surprised (that he cldn't hack it) ... that u managed to get harold sick on a taxi ride ...... hehehe ...

what happened at IA? apart from a new plate ...

he hasnt visited the site yet .. I guess he's still quivering .. or on the toilet

they replaced the tail light and ran engine diagnostics which showed up an abnormality. They say it's nothing immediately serious but they want to take a closer look at it next week as it's "something new" to them. That being said it still ran ok on the run back despite the ontrack incident.

it's going in to get the wrap repaired next week as well.

Was it an afternoon session?

 

The main session was in the morning but some (eg Fong & the AM Cup boyz) stayed for the afternoon. Sorry I didnt take any pics & my incar cam didn't work

 

at least I can now say that I've finally broken thru the barrier

 

oh absolutely ... the run up was much, much quicker ... tho left the rest of the boys waaaaayyy back ...
