    Hey guys,

I'm posting this request on behalf of my dad. He's recovering from a recent surgical procedure and is now determined to live life to the fullest and fulfill one of his long time dreams, to own a ferrari.

We checked out our local dealership and they had a stunning red f430 spider in stock that pops is very interested in. The car is loaded to the brim, daytona's, carbon fiber EVERYthing(engine cover, door sills, etc), and 3000miles on the odo. Sticker price was 282ish.

They're asking $225,000, which seemed a bit high to me considering what else is out there on the market. any opinions? what would be a reasonable offer for this car?

Appreciate all the help and so does pops!

here are some pics of the car in question:

    That's a fair price.

With all those options that sounds like a very good price.

I respectfully disagree with those who think the car is offered at a "fair" price. These day, my "rule of thumb" based on present market conditions and Ferrari's that were "sold", around $75,000 under original MSRP would be a "good" deal. With that said "pops", depending on the type of surgery, and I truly mean this respectfully, may feel time is more valuable than money. and what good does saving a few thousdan dollars really mean to him right now. Best of luck.

i tend to agree. The 430 spiders are dime a dozen in red. Id try and find an 06 or 07 and save another 50 to 60K. For low to mid 200s id personally be looking at scuderias but if buying a car local to u is a big thing then just eat the premium and go for it.

That is indeed a nice car. I particularly like the charcoal interior with the red piping.
However, you do not need to spend that kind of $ on a 430 spider.
There are '06s and '07s out there for MUCH less. Wide World Ferrari in Spring Valley has a beautiful '06 430 spider TDF blue over Cuoio with a comprehensive service history for MUCH less. There's not too much difference between the '06 and '08 other than the warrantee.
They may even offer an extended warrantee if you ask nicely. Speak with Rich Alphonso. He is very nice to deal with.

Did you learn anything from these posts? Ummmmm... No. If you like the car and what the car, just make an offer. If they say yes or no, then THAT'S the market.

If you don't want to pay 225 or there abouts, look around.

2008's have the best F-1 gearbox, the most warranty left, and Carbon Ceramic Brakes. If you don't want that stuff, find an earlier and cheaper car.

    Simple.

Thanks for all the replies guys, i've passed all the opinions to my father and he expresses a sincere thanks to everyone whose chimed in.

We're following some leads on similarly optioned cars MY2007 in the 170range. I'll update if anything happens.

    Thanks again!

    Liran,

I just read this stream. Odd but I was diagnosed with a tough illness a bit ago. Like your father, I also had the life long "F Dream". Four months I went out and bought one (2007 red/tan spider, 4,000 mi, CCR brakes, loaded - $180,000).

My advice - Just do it! One the best decisions I've ever made. Don't get too wadded up about price (people are lunatics on this site about it). In the long run if you pay $10,000 too much it wont make any differnce to the enjoyment he will get.

My very best to both of you.
