Countach, the ultimate supercar

Very interesting that 090 has embossed, and 110 has stickers, and I know they went to embossed for LP400S so here is another example of random application of components through production.

Availability, price, convenience?

 

I know I have seen the embossed knobs on a lot of generic 70's stuff here in the states, pretty much identical to these. Maybe a big supplier made these much more cheaply?

i think it had always a 4 liter engine and it was just to made it look like the newer and cooler thing available (i would guess they presented it as a freshly built 5000S car )

...this said, it is quite interesting to note the plates were again 500

i will look into it

Then for that matter, 002 be the first 25th ann production car?

And judging by the spartan interior, this one gives real meaning to the immortal utterance: "Officer, I have absolutely no idea how fast I was going!"

I am not certain, but would not be surprised if in fact his car became the Muletta that Sandro Munari trashed for mile after mile as the development car for the Annivesario which debuted in the summer of the following year.

Personally, even though I love the early LP400, I am also a huge Annivesario fan. The first-of-the-series and last-of-the-series span so much development over so many years and they represent a nice Countach collection indeed.

This is no 5l, that car is the converted LP400 by Lais.

 

So does it stand to reason that 002 is the first production or at the very least first customer car?

 

That type of sensible logic was never a basis for fact with Lamborghini! I would think so, but I really don't know in this case...

 

Joe, I don't think I asked you this before, but where was 002 delivered originally?

I have 1120002 as being delivered new in Milan via Achilli Motors for Albino Corti on April the 8th 1974.

With regards to your 1120004, my records show it was delivered new in Rome via S.E.A Automobili for Scottu Antonio on May the 14th 1974. A note says it was completed a week prior on May the 8th 1974.

I cannot vouch for the spelling of these first customer's names and in fact there may be some typos...

 

By the way, which specific full chassis number are you speaking of so I can try & check on this?
