Hi guys, I want to buy a used 599, and retrofit the HGTE kit. Having looked into it, the dealer confirms he can do everything at a cost, but that there is a chassis number cut-off point for the upgrade to the gearbox. Does anyone know the earliest chassis number to which the HGTE pack can be fully completed, so I can aim to get a later car?? Dealer is unsure so I said I would check here, probably faster!!

2008 or later you will be fine. If you have the 2007, you can upgrade the suspension but not he gearbox. My tech said that it would be an expensive suspension upgrade for what you would probably get out of it for normal driving. He wasn't near his computer so could not get me a chassis cut off number, but remembered the 2008 being good for both upgrades but suspension only for 2007. Hope this helps, even if it's a bit incomplete.

There is a complete thread on the upgrade subject - it details what VIN # the upgrades can be fitted. Along with costs from different dealers in the US and Europe

Thanks guys, thats what my dealer saidtobe honest, I will check the chassis numbers because in the UK, a 2008 car could have been a holdover to get the new plate from 2007!!
I drove the HGTE last week and it was awesome, havent driven the standard car though, but figured why spend £220,000 when I can get a 2008 for £140,000 and spend £20000+ on the kit instead!
