This red plastic piece covers the slot in side the radio.First slide the left side radio knob panel off.In order to do that you need to gently slide the ferrari logo on the front of the radio to the left that will pop the left hand control panel .behind it you will find a slot for multi media,or SD card for navigation if so equipped can be inserted.The plastic panel slides in to cover.It goes in only in one direction.this is done so as to prevent accidantal damage to the multi media slot.I hope i have been able to answer
