Many of you know I've been a bit under the weather for a while now but I'm getting better. If the weather in Houston was like it has been for the past few days all year long my house would cost 2 million dollars. Those of you with GT4's know how hot the inside gets with the sun blazing through that greenhouse windshield so I don't drive mine much during the summer. Today was a perfect day for a ride. I cleaned her up, had the front tires balanced since I had a slight shimmy at 60mph, and away we went. <sigh> They really are fun cars to drive. I had a good time. Have any of you realized that it won't be very long now before people think we're nuts for driving these on a regular basis because they will no longer be older cars but instead will be rare vintage cars?
I, for one, am planning on driving the wheels off of my GT4!!!!!! I cannot wait to see the day when it turns 100,000!!! (I'm right around 48,000 miles now) It will be interesting to see how history views our beloved GT4's..... JIM
Do that more, you'll feel better. See if your doctor can prescibe it as medicine, maybe your insurance will cover belt changes!
Glad to read that you are improving Dave. As you know, I too live in Houston, out at Spring-Cypress and 249 (Gleannloch Farms). And yes, I have driven my Mondial to work multiple times in the last week or so! PERFECT weather in Houston now. For the rest of you: We deserve this kind of weather for putting up with the opressive summer heat and humidity! This weekend, I hope to move my 308GTB from storage to my home garage so I can start the minor service. The Mondial QV is up to date, the 308 needs belts. Drive on!
Dave, That reminds me that I have to take mine out for a spin before the rains set into Northern California. At a mere 47,000 miles on her, she could use a nice run up. A note about the glass windshield. It is my understanding that the original windshields have no UV protection. We drivers can take anything, but I have talked to some lady passengers whom acquired sunburn during a drive. Just a tidbit of note. Glad you are feeling better, and enjoy each and every ride. It is beautiful music to hear our 308's, windows down, and tons of people taking pictures of us on the highway. Enjoy bro. Dwight
I've said it before: that counter on your dashboard doesn't count miles. It's a fun-o-meter!!!! I'm sincerely missing mine. It's been 6 months since I've driven her to Wales for a bare metal respray. This guy is good. And he's really affordable. But fast??? Not really... (in all fairness, I've told him to take his time and do it good) Get well soon Dave, Hans P.S.
