Maybe it has to do with the fact that 150k is simply above the market value for the car? I know SCC has a very good history of customer service, but EVERY car I've seen listed by them is at least 10% above market price, and in general they refuse to negotiate to a fair price.

Case in point: a red/tan, 6-speed 2005 430. They had it listed first at 139k, then at 125k, then at 119,900. I offered 115k, they refused. 2 weeks later, they ran it through the dealer auction and got 105k for it. $10k loss over what a customer was willing to pay.

So it seems apparent that SCC would rather take a loss, and liquidate it at auction, rather that sell it at a fair but depreciated market price. BTW, that same car can now be purchased for below 115k, at a different dealer.

Edit: addition - the extra 10k for any car purchased from SCC is for the privilege to tell your friends (with nose turned up and a pretentious old money accent): "I just purchased my Ferrari from La Jolla."

There's something about the yellow and red and green and white and black ... a little busy for my taste, though I've been told, all my taste is in my mouth.

(with nose turned up and a pretentious old money accent): "Two years ago, I purchased my RS no stripe Ferrari CS w/ black leather, currently for sale, from La Jolla."

    :D

    Andrew,
IIRC, there was a blurb about this car in the stories stradale thread... I think it was in two accidents.
That begs the question, how much of a discount should one take off for accidents if they are purely cosmetic? (I don't know if that's the case here) $150K for a 3500 mile car would be a great deal for a no stories car. If the accidents were only superficial, what do you think it would be worth?

Overpriced+nasty color combo = no sale.

Yellow with a red/black interior is awful.

Of course this is only one man's opinion.

But, if I can buy a red/black CS for $150K, maybe a tad less, why would I buck up the same number for that combo?

+1... Make that 2 opinions. Still, for such a low mileage CS, the color combo can't be the only reason it's not selling. Cat's exotics just sold a TDF CS with blue interior which was b*tt ugly, IMO. It looked like it was spec'd out by a Smurf or something...

There you go; $150 K for a yellow (highly desired by some), extremely low mileage, no stories car is a deal and would be snapped up. Other issues obviously going on behind the scene.

Crashed at the track, heavy damage to passenger side and put back together badly is what I heard. Off course when I initially called Jim Lyons at SCC he told me car was great with no issues!

If that is true, then the guy is a f*uck and should be banned from this site.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now though.

Yellow Stradale should have no stripe and yellow calipers.

If the car has history, it explains why it is not selling. I wouldnt buy it for 110K.

Yes, but all cars sold there are "STUNNING!" and a "SHOWSTOPPER!" Those adjectives alone should make them worth an extra 30k!

Noticed that with this outfit when I was looking for my 430. As they say you get what you pay for. I learned this in my experience from the last year looking for my car. Of course there are some people (mostly non-buyers or owners) that still think the 430 Market is $120k, but if you have seen the condition of those cars, you wouldn't walk but run, run far.

By the way without naming this certain outfit out of respect to Ferrari Chat, I was at the service of a respected Ferrari dealership that was mentioned here as snooty, from someone who purchased a "So-Called Deal Car" from one of these outfits, and the guy was almost crying when he found out the issues of the car, because he hadn't had a PPI done.

Holy sheep sh*t. Wow. Thanks for the info. SCC had a twice wrecked red CS w/ stripe (yellow calipers) this past summer and their ad claimed it was "pristine".

Looks like F of Denver is now offering this CS for sale, even though Sports Car Co. still has an active auction running on eBay. SCC had difficulty selling this CS for $139k so FoD is going to try for $159k? Will be interesting to see if FoD can move this beast as it sat at SCC for nearly 18 months.
