I noticed the other day that the little knob is missing from my clock. It's not just the knob that's missing, it looks like the entire shaft is broken off inside the clock. How best to fix this?

I believe Palo Alto Speedo does all instruments..

Or there's a lady in Albuquerque...

Palo Alto Speedo is a good choice. They did mine last year. Came back perfect.

Fiat Spider (124 and 2000) clocks are similar if not an exact match. There are some variations, but you can probably find an exact match or scavenge on for the broken part and the rebuild yours.

    +1 on Palo Alto.

Got mine running again and changed out the yellowed/smoked-out front "glass."

Took them (quite) awhile but it was well worth the wait.

This was almost 2 years ago so YMMV.

Guy I delt with was "Hartmut." Cost was: About $150+/-

My clock did not work, the "glass" was so badly clouded you almost could not see thru it and the 'Time-set Stem" was also broken, just rotated w/o moving the hands.

Considering the (then) cost of a OEM (used) replacement, IF YOU COULD FIND ONE, it would have been a bargain at twice the price.

Saw a couple go for well over $300 (used and cloudy lens) on eBay at the time.

Thanks for posting that. Fortunately, my clock works (well, kinda) and except for clowdy plastic 'glass', it's okay. Perhaps my repair will be a little cheaper.

My clock works as well, although with the knob broken, the clock is as good as broken. I don't know if it's worth it to me to send it off to get fixed. Perhaps one day I'll open it up to see if there's an obvious and simple repair.

If the need is little more than a new plastic 'crystal' then you can form one from Plexiglas stock and a few hand tools. The setting knob thing may just have come apart. Certainly worth a try before dropping $300.
