Don't look too far ahead. Did you see the final on Iowa and Northwestern today. What would you have said about that game before it started????

I don't really see it. Alabama is playing strong, conservative football. Teams more likely to be surprised are those who depend on a high-flying offense instead of a solid defense.

No one is ranking Iowa, Penn State, or Oregon as strong defensive teams, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that those teams got upset.

But it is much more difficult to surprise a strong defense.

Blaming the refs won't help you in future games. You'd better be asking why LSU had such a succesful blitz in the 1st half, but lost it in the 2nd...because if all of the teams in LSU's future watch the Alabama game for tips, they are going to see what Bama adjusted to give their QB time in the 2nd half.

Likewise, LSU only had 9 total yards of Offense in the entire 4th Quarter...the Tigers were winded at that point; very tired.

blaming the refs is standard lsu fair. i have a good buddy thats a lsu fan, and it's usually the first excuse out of his mouth too.

although last year when ole miss pulled lsu's britches down and spanked that rear end, he didnt have any excuses. it was a first.

I wasn't surprised. Then again, I'm an SEC fan and think little of the Big 11.

SEC officiating is atrocious this year, I haven't watched one game that was well officiated. The interception call was clearly blown on the field and in the replay booth. Hopefully this spring the refs will get retrained, or something.

Maybe the SEC can pay them more so they won't have to lok for supplemental income

I will admit - because it is true - that "incomplete pass" was an interception.

Problem for LSU is that it really didn't matter at that point.

EVERY SINGLE GAME has bad calls. The SEC refs have a magnifying glass on them, and they aren't helping their case by making some bad calls, but they are really just human mistakes, not blatant, intentional misses.

Don't get me wrong -- I hate bad calls too, and I was calling people at Bryant-Denny and telling them it was a pick before the refs came back and said the play stood as called. But bad calls happen in every game, not just football.

This wasn't at the end of the game, like that ridiculous flag on Miami in the title game against Ohio State, or a celebration penalty that got LSU good field position at Georgia. Such is sport.

LSU and USC with 7-2 records are both ranked too high in the BCS......But then I am not surprised to see USC there. I wonder how much backroom bargaining it took to be rated there. It actually kind of surprises me they have not complained themselves into the top five, earned or not.........But then, a am not a USC fan......

Well. LSU's only losses are to FL and Bama. Both of which they played competitive games. I think 8 or 9 is about the right spot for LSU. As for USC, I don't really care anymore.

Do you honestly think TCU, Boise State, or Cincinatti could beat LSU or USC ?

lsu could just as easily have 4 losses as it does 2. they BARELY got by a terrrible state, and didnt win but by a bad call against georgia. they just arent that consistent to be a top 10 team.

    I don't consider a 13-3 game not competitive.

Yes. Especially Cincinnati. I doubt they would be favored, but they would definitely stand a good chance.

LSU's offense was nonexistent, I think you need more than 160-ish yards to call it competitive. Just my opinion tho.

    See you in ATL. :)

Hopefully I can grab some tickets for the game this year.

    Uhhhh, yes I do...........

Boise State, it would be a toss-up.. TCU and Cincinatti could take them both. LSU would put up more of a contest than USC..........TCU margin of victory in last four games, 44-8. They are getting progressively stronger defensively. They may allow teams some movement between the 20's but when in the red zone they really tighten it up.......Offensively they continue to mature and improve. They are a much better team than started the season.

This week will be huge for TCU. Utah was the last team to beat them and has defeated them the last three years. Whoever wins the game Saturday wins the MWC. If TCU wins they still have a good shot at a BCS bowl. If they lose then they can certainly forget an invite to play at one..............My forecast, TCU 38, Utah 14. Now I stuck my neck out, we will see if it gets chopped off.......

Oh, Florida 41, Alabama 17........but then, what do I know.......
