Practice makes perfect! Air brush gives you much finer control and is the tool of choice. Rattle cans harder to get control but still doable. Secret is usually multiple thin coats followed up by one coat just heavy enough to go on "wet" and good lighting as you are spraying is the key to seeing how wet is just wet enough. Let harden - can take up to a month depending on paint - then polish and clear coat or wax.
Practice on models you don't care about or on tin cans or something. Keep stripping them down and re-doing until you start getting results that you like. It isn't really hard but there is definitely an art to it and so many factors to control. Air pressure, distance to object, viscosity of paint, drying characteristics etcetera, etc.

    Practice...
    .
    .
    Practice some more.....

As with all painting, 90% is in the prep work - Here's a pretty good tutorial that should help you out: http://www.briansmodelcars.com/tutorials/tutorial/82

There's another tutorial on the same site that follows this one, but if the primer stage isn't "perfect", you can be sure that the finish coats won't be....

Incidentally, there are a bunch of really good tutorials on the site - Enjoy!

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Hi all,thanx for comments.
This model is an Elite Hot Wheels, completely rebuilt.
Painting is from a simply MaxMeyer spray can Fiat Rosso Shiraz 109,followed by some coats of Mr. Hobby Super Clear, then polished with Micromesh,Tamiya compounds and wax.

FANTASTIC work!!! Do you have more detail shots of the interior?

Also, I'd love to see what you did with the engine.

    Great job!

Interior and engine look great. Did you use flocking or felt fabric on the interior, or was it already like that?

    Many thanx to all.

    @DeMode:rims are from the 360CS,tires from California.....yes i'm a cannibalizer :-D
Then it needs some modifications to increase the diameter of the rims so i used styrene stripes.
Diameter of the 360CS wheels (i mean the ensemble) is too small for the 599.
Why i used California tires?Because their profile is less than the original HW 599 ones.
HW 599 tires are good only on the Hummer....

For the rims you can see from this ebay seller if you don't want cannibalize a 360CS.
Btw then you will always need for a set of suitable rims....for a best result.

@Latsyrc:for the interior i used the adhesive cloth by Model Factory Hiro,it's a very good stuff to do it.

@Carsleuth:this work did taken me about 4 months,i have had lots of troubles with the painting.
