This is why I prefer F1 over Nascar. Actually I prefer just about any kind of racing over Nascar...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2otGXwmlAU
that's behavior I've seen at every major motor race I've ever attended in America...including the USGP.
I just don't participate. It just seems that it happens more at a lot of Nascar races than I have seen at other races I have attended. I know it happens everywhere but it just seems more prevalent there. Tillman, I could use a little cheese with it, do you have any????:>) You know, I guess I did do things like that in another phase of my life, just not any more....
Okay, I get you guys.........Yes I have been through the infield. And yes I have been behind the track wall on the back straight at Daytona at 3am with a sign board.........I guess my tastes have changed with time.. It is a shame what getting a few years on you causes...........Just makes me a crotchedy old fart...........No fun anymore......... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Unless you go to Indianapolis or Watkins Glen or Monza or Imola or Hockenheimring or Nurburgring or Zandvoort or Le Mans, or... You get the idea. Perhaps try horse racing or polo? Oh, wait a minute... RM
definitely agree with you James on your comments - not a one in the video said anything about racing, only coming to party, this is why one perceives the mental image of nascar = drunken party animals. The only "madness" if that's what you wish to call it that we've seen is at the LeMans 24h but it "Class-Act" madness mostly by the folks from NL when their drivers are there (don't mean to offend anyone from NL, we enjoy seeing you guys, you're great and party with class). I prefer the racing and the atmosphere at the LMS, FIA-GT races we attend where racing is the name of the game...totally different group of folks. We've been thru the infield at Sebring many times also, most don't have a clue what is going on over the weekend, unfortunately the 12 hours is scheduled during spring break. There are some die-hards at Turn 10 (been coming for years and years) but...most have tasteful fun. Tells you something when the Patron tent is surrounded by cops. Carol
Bad behavior is rampant...not just at NASCAR races. I think this comes mostly from lazy parents essentially letting TV and "educators" raise their kids. /rant. Thanks for listening. Jack
People partying on the campgrounds--horror! I'm not ashamed to say I've been there more than once, at NASCAR, CART & F1. Folks having fun the way they want to. Others like to go for over-priced steak dinners in a more refined setting. Different strokes...
I wouldn't want to hang with those fans either but they seemed good natured as they let off a little steam. Better than hanging with NAZI prostitutes. The best way to experience racing is by watching it on TV IMO.
We F1 fans are dignified, tweed caps, extended pinkies and all http://www.glenphotos.com/bog/bogright.html
